How much of our culture has been destroyed? I'd guess at 5%.
The only people in the UK who've been vastly affected by Americanism are the youths of today, from everything I've seen. Besides, what is 'American' culture? Define it. Does it really differ from our own society in such a huge way?
Don't forget that quite a bit of American culture has been influenced by British culture too. People also forget that the 'American' McDonalds, actually came from Irish origin. . |

If you must know Britain is like Americas father, we started off america to the great nations it is today. Britain and America have always been very simirlir culturly, politics and ecnomicaly. Both Countries have been the most powerfull nations on the plannet for 400years and so far no other country is more powerfull well theres more powerfull countries than britain but these 2 major ex and current super powers are simirlir in all ways. Believe me i am a welsh american spend alot of time in Wales and America. God Bless America and Britain best, greatest and most powerfull nations on the plannet ever. |

Which bit of the USA? It is a big and varied place from what I've seen of it. So is the UK (lots smaller, but regionally very varied). |

London is becoming more accustomed to American culture, but it's not all of England. Many parts of the country, mostly the countryside, small towns, and other parts away from the big cities still stick to English lifestyle.
America has extreme influence over almost every country in the world, that's why so many cultures are blending with American customs. |

I think the UK as a whole is getting worse. Yes London gets alot of it but thats due to the population being so much higher than other towns and cities, but crime, immigration, prices, government are worse all over the country. |

Dont worry, you can still get an all day breakfast, (mostly cooked by muslims now) afternoon tea with scons and muffins and there are still gentlemen that will knock you down on Oxford St. Its still rainy and miserable too AND youve got the American stuff too. |

What! none of our culture is destroyed in the U.S. Besides you shouldnt fear change, or you wont survive |

No culture has been destroyed if they're still alive/still there.
USA isn't bad. I'm happy, everyone else I know who lives here is happy. So, what's the bad in that? |

Being a UK guy I've noticed this a lot recently.
It's the way people dress and act, nothing wrong with that I'm just stating how much the US has influenced the UK.
I assume a lot of it is down to media, American music, TV shows etc.
There are parts of the UK that will never change, the rest of the country is on it's **** anyway so I welcome the Americans. |

I'd rather be more Americanized than anything the UK is becoming more American with Burger Kings, McDonald's, Footlockers cineplexes
and all the American tv shows we get here like Everybody Hates Chris I love that show. |

Cultures evolve.
They always have done.
If you were to look at the British cultural scene of say 50 years ago you would be surprised at the change.
Much is also due to the inbound travellers who influence. It happens all over. |

In the big cities like London sure,
But not in villages and such.
Eg. They still do cheese-rolling in Gloucestershire.
Although, Tv is being taken over by the USA |

I don't think it's that bad, I live in UK and go to America a lot (I am 14 and have been 7 times and usually stay there 2-4 weeks I have family there) and I don't think it is. I think we are heading towards America with weight problems, but I still think it's very much British. I would prefer to live in England definitely, I like America but I wouldn't want to live there. |

its tony blair and gordon browns fault because they do whatever george bush does.
hopefully our culture will remain british and original but in all honesty it will only be the big cities that will be affected e.g. london and birmingham.
hail britain. |

This is why it is so funny when everyone gets excited about a few Muslims!
Our culture has been subsumed by America and constantly eroded ever since 1945. The trouble is, the tv watching, movie watching, garbage eating idiots are too thick to notice that! |
