Wales is a dump ?

I live in Scotland and just visted wales for the 1nd time
I have seen england and parts of Ireland and they were pretty but wales EWWWW

I went to south wales and they was rubbish on the roads, the town center was empty all the shops boarded up and chav's everywere.
people were rude, one old woman, when we got on a bus, though she could sit down because she was welsh and when she heard my scot's accent she tutted and said to her friend, 'look whats in our country'

Omg that is just rude- "look whats in our country"!
And yes, I agree, Wales is a dump. I live in Manchester and have been to Wales and I think apart from Snowdon there is nothing special to see- not even the sea because the Irish sea is the most polluted sea in the world- FACT.

That one town was a dump, and not the whole country, to say that is pretty unfair. Shropshire is really beautiful, but there's a lot of shitty English towns, so it'd be unfair of me to call England a **** place. I've been to some lovely places in Wales, Scotland and England, it's just anywhere you go, there might be a bad place.

One Happy Egg
What part of Wales did you go to? Because I assure you, judging by your ignorance, you didn't see much of Wales at all and some of it is very pretty.

NuggetStump
Hmm.. I'm from South Wales.
I think you were a bit unlucky to bump into such a rude old woman because we have loads of different nationalities down here and nobody really gives them a bad word :)

We are really friendly people around here, most of the shops are closed due to the credit crunch too.
Which part of South Wales did you visit?
Cardiff isn't too bad, but I totally agree with the chav comment that you made, their everywhere! Especially in swansea!

Usually old women on buses just sit down anyway just because their old. Of course we'll let them sit in our seat as we offer them but I hate it when the push to the front of the queue without taking a blind bit of notice!

Ahh, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy it here though!
Some parts of South Wales are lovely though :)
Did you visit Mumbles & Oxwich in Swansea?

Well I live in South Wales and parts of it are lovely. What you describe sounds pretty dire tho!

You probably just picked a bad part to visit.

There are some really grotty places in Scotland, and also some of the most beautiful. You shouldn't really generalize and form your opinion of Wales on just one visit to one part of it.

MGA
I've heard that the northern Welsh are more civilised.

buzzzzz
Of course.......... all of Scotland is perfect.......is'nt it???

Angel with a broken wing
Poverty can kill a soul and produce ignorance due to its unforgiving grip on ones present life. When opportunity leaves it takes possibility with it. Therefore struggle and hate moves in the neighborhood and people rush to fill their cup up with it for at this point they will drink anything. Sad you had to experience a negative instead of a positive. We tend to forget we can walk away but sometimes reality can be paralyzing or does it just seem that way?

32 weeks pregnant with a boy
I'm sorry but i'm Scottish to and i know how you feel, i hate when other countries slag our accents and where we come from, i know that not everyone does it but i know a few English and Welsh people who've done it in the past. If it were me who was on that bus i would've gave the old woman a slap.

I think you probably just went to a bad part of Wales, i know there is some nice parts.

Ribéry
Haha well its safe to say they don't like outsiders, but i thought they would warm to a Scot seeing as both countries hate us English!

James
Yeah, ew.
