Depends what you want to do
Try camping on the Sussex coast - somewhere like Hastings where you've got good beaches and good connections to Brighton, Eastbourne for day trips
or try Cornwall - book an advanced purchase train ticket and you can do it fairly cheaply
Or if you want cities try the North West - Manchester, Liverpool and you've got the Peak District on the doorstep for walking and countryside
Other places which are good include the Kent coast, Norfolk, Bristol/Bath and the South West and South Wales around Swansea etc |

It's cheaper to get a late package deal and go abroad than stay in the UK! My youngest so,wife and 3 grandchildren are all going to Spain for less than 600 quid, and my best friend is going to Barton On Sea with her husband and she is paying 800 quid! |

It would probably be cheaper looking at a package deal abroad when you look at how much you spend on food, drinks etc.
One paper last week had an article and you could go to Rhodes for 1 week self catering on June 13th for £33.
Book flights on easyjet/ bmi etc and look on alpharooms.com for accommodation.
Or look at package deals on the net or teletext.
And you're more likely to get decent weather. |

I'm on a limited budget this year too, so got some mates together and booked a holiday cottage for us all on the Isle of Wight. I found the site below and it's great - you can put in the date you want to go away, the region you're looking for and search for an available place with the right number of bedrooms etc. and it'll bring up all the available properties, and the prices. I chose the Isle of Wight because I went there before when I was a student, and it has enough to keep you occupied for a week - nice beaches, plenty of places to go and you can get to any part of the island in a short time. I guess it depends on what your idea of fun is though!
If you can get a group of people together, getting a holiday cottage it can work out a lot cheaper per person. We're paying just over £100 each for a lovely apartment.
If you're looking for somewhere really lively, Brighton is excellent, has such a great atmosphere and enough bars and clubs etc. to keep you occupied!
Good luck, hope you find somewhere you enjoy! |

You've got some good answers here - Cornwall is especially good. If you're on a limited budget go off-peak.
Also, if its an option, look at late deals abroad as I have many friends who have started looking for a cheap UK break only to find a cheaper holiday abroad! |

North Wales (try camping) my kids have some great memories of camping with their dad there next to a beautiful lake and one year we came back with a new dog from a local farm
Lake District-stunning scenery and interesting shops
Cornwall-Interesting and relaxing and not too expensive.
Isle of Wight-B & B
Dont go in the summer holidays as all the prices increase-try ether camping or B & B places.I also had a week in Blackpool with the kids once and had a fab time! |
