We want to move?

hi

i am looking for advice, we live in romford essex which we hate

i hate my job ......my boyfriend hates his
i work in office work and him in retail

trouble is we dont know where to move?? we like the idea of hertfordshire, cheshire, or kent maybe but have never been there?

we dont have a car and therefore would have to go by train

we just know we want out of here...... we want to live in countryside more, pretty scenery, a better life, clean air etc

we still would like to live in england though, as we are trained performers and are trying to get into this work (so we would like to be able to do this kind of work - here

what do we do?
obviously we cant move til we have jobs/money

so do we try to get a job first, then rent a house and then move?

whats the best way to do things?
please help??? thanx

Look for jobs first, that way you'll be in a better position when you arrive.

Why not try Yorkshire, beautiful countryside up here, near major cities that could be the place to find the performing jobs you want, cheaper rents up here too, you could probably get a job at the Halifax bank as you have office experience, they have a huge office complex in Leeds and your boyfriend is bound to get work in Leeds too as hes in retail and it been a major city, there are some beautiful places on the outskirts of Leeds to live in that give you the best of both worlds, pretty villages that are very countryside with cheaper rents than living in Leeds city centre itself, hope where ever you decide to live all your hopes, dreams and wishes come true, good luck.

Have a look at the up my street website it gives information about an area and may help you to decide where you'd like to live, I live in Kent and whilst there is a lot of nice green areas it is gradually being swallowed up by more housing, but still a nice place to live, Maidstone especially has a great variety of shops!

don`t run away, stay and fight for clean air etc, have you thought about self employment?

Well, it depends - do you need to be near London for your performing, or can it be anywhere in England?

I live in Hampshire, and I really like it there - the countryside is really beautiful, plus the weather is usually better than elsewhere in the country! It also has really good transport links to London and elsewhere. However, rent is pretty expensive, and the major towns (Portsmouth and Southampton) are a bit crap!

I think you'd be best picking a potential area and going to visit it for a couple of days to see if you like it. If you have driving licenses, the best way would be to hire a car, then you can explore the countryside aswell as the cities.

Also, once you have decided, you'll be better trying to sort out jobs before you move (unless of course you have enough savings to see you through for a bit)...which will involve more trips for interviews.

Good luck!

There is only one place for you---Pembrokeshire in Wales where there is fresh air, beautiful coastal national parks, friendly people--it is called little England beyond Wales and a slower better way of life.My wife lived in Theydon Bois in Essex but was born in Wales and i know which she prefers

what sort of performers? best to do some day trips get a feel of the areas - I have lived in London, Essex and now in Herts all have good and bad - find the area you like best and get jobs then rent - obviously London is the most expensive but the most exciting Hertfordshire is pretty expensive as well with Essex not far behind. Good luck

There's jobs - i dont know what in as i'm not job-searching, in the North East, OK so the air isn't perfectly clean - but house prices are low, there are lots of beautiful country areas around, especially around Teesside - you have The North York Moors (Accessible by bus in summer), theres a good quick link from King's Cross to The North East

Make a list of the areas you would like to move to, then find out what the unemployment figures are for those areas. Check out all the sorts of things that mean a lot to you n your boyfriend like places to visit, pubs, clubs etc., n maybe go for the weekend to see what's available. If you rent from an Estate Agent check n see if they have properties available in other areas or if you are with the Council check their lists for exchanges. You will probably need a job first in your chosen area before you'll be allowed a house if you go to a different provider for housing. It will probably take up to a year for you to relocate completely so don't make any rash decisions like handing in your notice just yet. Good luck xx
