Do you want good clothes or cheap clothes? The Oxfam shop on the Kings Road in Chelsea has some lovely designer things that the "ladies who lunch" donate.

Petticoat Lane in E1 is fantastic. Open: Mon-Fri 10am-2pm; Sun 9am-2pm

Trust me, there are no bargains in London, but do try Selfidges in Oxford street, the champagne there is only 20 pounds for a drop/
