Victoria: Seafresh, wilton road SW1, virtually next to the station.(highly recommended)
Marylebone. Seashell of Lisson grove, 2 minutes from station. (highly recommended)
Charring cross. Live bait, Wellington street WC2, Next too the Lyceum theatre, showing the Lion King, it's a bit more up market, but worth the extra few bob.
London Bridge. The Fish bar, borough high street, 2 minutes from station.
Waterloo. Fishcoteque, Waterloo road, 3 minutes to station. (good)
Kings cross. Caledonian fish bar, 190 caledonian road, 15 minutes too station.

London Borough Market (Near the Tate Modern) has a shop called FiSH which sells the most amazing fish and chips.
There's also a little shop in Covent Garden that sells, slightly odd shaped, but wonderful nonetheless, classic fish and chips. |

I suppose that it depends which part of London you are visiting.....
Would you travel the length and breadth of London just to visit a chippy that was recommended on here?
Anywhere will do...... |

I have had excellent and bad fish and chips from a chip shop at the junction of Praed Street and Norfolk Place (Paddington), cheap and you can sit down.
If you want the best fish and chips and your in the Richmond/Twickenham area then go to Marios in Isleworth at the junction of Twickenham Road and Chestnut Grove - but takeaway only. |

Well there aren't too many good ones any more sadly, and expensive as anything now. Places like Covent Garden have loads of restaurants, but to my knowledge no fish and chip place, except a little cafe inside the old market bit, called Peters who do nice food, inexpensive, but not sure of the fish and chips?
Richmond not an option as its miles away. However there is also the Sea Shell in Lisson Grove, off Marylebone Road, who do great fish and chips, but also might be too far away from the center.
sorry to not be more help
Rock & Sole Plaice
London’s oldest surviving fish and chip shop was established in 1871 and is still bustling (though admittedly under different ownership). Tourists, luvvies, suits and trendies – no one cares when they’ve got chunky chips and crisply battered fish in front of them. Outdoor tables, strung around with coloured lights, come into their own on a balmy summer’s evening.
Rock & Sole Plaice, 47 Endell St, WC2H 9AJ (020 7836 3785) Covent Garden tube. Open Mon-Sat 11.30am-11pm; Sun 12noon-10pm.
might be too expensive? |

Well its a lil bit out of london but in Richmond there is a really nice one just down the highstreet. If you ask someone walking along, not straight outside the station as those people are always in a rush, they will tell you where it is. They do amzing chips for about 1.20 and cod for another 2.00 or sumthing. Hope I helped! |
