Anywhere is good if you have money.
Bad mouthing England is a little sad and incorrect.
http://www.visitnortheastengland.com/
Knife/gang culture and drugs have come from immigrants who exploit our benefit systems and refuse to obey our laws and pay taxes.
These scumbags expect the world in which they live to be provided for by someone else.

Of course there are no drugs, murders muggings rape robberies guncrime or scumbags in America.
30 years ago the country was almost free of parasites.
Mainly Pakistanis with links to Afghanistan brought in hard drugs.... they do more than ever now!
Afghanistan supplies 70% of the world's heroine,
Pakistan's border melds into it. that's where all foreign fighters come in and fight free allies who are trying to clear up the drug trafficking which the Talibs there need to supply themselves with even more guns and weapons.
So these Pakistanis have an awful lot to answer fordon't they?
England is a beautiful country with traditions going back hundreds of years, sometimes thousands.
Of course if you can't see the wood for the trees, you will always see the black side of anywhere you go.
Life in England is more stable than anywhere else on planet Earth.
http://www.enjoyengland.com/
If you want stability, and freedom to enjoy life, then you must work to pay your way, and blend in.
Don't expect England to provide for you like many immigrants do.
At last, we are taking a note out of those Down Under, and making it more difficult for parasites to get in!
Blend in, work hard, play hard, pay your taxes and obey our laws which are fair, considering that democracy was created by England.
England which has stood undefeated since 1066..942 years... a hell of a long time!
England which colonised Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, India, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Kenya, America, and many other countries too numerous to mention.
Why go to the colonies, when you can have the real thing?
Try the North... as far away from London as you can get on a full tank of fuel... and that will bring you to North Yorkshire... God's very own county.
Try it, and enjoy. |

i love it mate, but then again i'm english, i'm bound to be a bit biased.
to be honest it all depends on how much money you make. if you dont make much it can be awful but if you make a lot it can be amazing. Basically, if you're coming here, make sure you choose a good area!
no joceline, iraq has one major trouble- the americans can kill you with "friendly fire" |

Well, considering that our health service is more or less free, we're not over-patriotic like particular nations (*cough* USA), we're very multicultural, have a very strong currency and that we're in close proximity to so many cool places (including those abroad), then YES! We have a great range of accents too!
According to a survey (which is carried out every year), Edinburgh is apparently the best place to live in the UK.
http://www.channel4.com/4homes/ontv/best...
I think London is the best! You'll never run out of things to do and places to visit (and it takes just a few hours to get to Brussels and even less so to Paris via eurostar, which is good for a weekend trip every season or so).
http://www.londonmonica.blogspot.com/
I really like Brighton, Bath and the Isle of Wight too (especially during the summer).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brighton
http://www.visitbath.co.uk/
http://www.isleofwight.com/
By the way, everything is a lot more expensive here, 75-85% of Britain are mostly green and crime here isn't as bad as it is in the US.
PS: to anyone who bad-mouths immigrants - immigrants saved our (what was) dying nation during the 60s and is still good for the economy. I do feel that there should a limit now though and that so many new immigrants nowadays are living off the government, but then again so do many non-migrants (yet they still complain about the immigrants living off the government). |

Having travelled a lot and stayed in many countries I have to say that the UK beats them all. Of course there are things to complain about but on the whole it is a good place to live. My next best place to live (if for some reason I had to leave) would be New Zealand. |

Yes it is a superb place & i love it :)
It has everything you need, in good quality, to raise a child.. and i've been very happy living and growing up here. I mean the weather isnt great but it makes me all the happier when its time to go on holiday and the taxes are high but atleast we have free education and healthcare and good human rights unlike most other countries!!!
I am very proud to come from the UK :) |

don't get me wrong. I LOVE England.
BUT
if i didn't already live here this would be the last place i wanted to bring my kids to. Its always cold. And as for the kids, well, the English youth are known for been badly behaved, they smoke, drink alcohol (both underage), take drugs, vandalise their local area, participate in gang warfare, tend to be in a lot of fights (regularly with guns/knives). You think I'm exaggerating? how would i know right? BECAUSE I AM 14! and i live in Wolverhampton. Your kids would love it! cos i no i do! but i would hate for my kids to be brought up like i was.
not meaning to put u off btw, there is some good stuff.

It depends on which part of the UK,
I love England, |

not at the moment.... wages are crap, families cannot afford to stay together unless both parents are working flat out 50 hours a week each. the cost of living is rising to critical levels and we are running out of things. stay where u are if i were u. |

I moved to England when I was 22, that was 8 years ago. The weather is not great but appart from that it is awesome place. I lived year in London which was amazing, a lot of diversity, a lot of people and oportunities. Now I live in Liverpool and enjoying it very much.
I like England as it is quite green place, people are nice and the standard of living is good. |

Mid wales is the best place, england is too crowded and scotland is too cold, we moved there and just fell in love with mid wales, people are so relaxed and friendly and it is much cheaper than england. :) |

No ........its horrendous . Thats why i left after 56 years. I now live in a so called '3rd world' country in the far east and im MUCH happier. If you want to live under a slave labour system in an over populated, over taxed , freezing cold place that is rapidly on the decline thats full of miserable unhappy people, it might be what your looking for . ..........Far better go to Canada or New Zealand. |

At the moment its crap. Knife and gun crimes are rife, food, energy costs and petrol is rising - I could go on but we're both working parents in fairly good jobs and struggling. If you choose to live somewhere in the countryside you might be better off away from the rat race, crime and illegal immigrants! I used to be proud but no longer am unfortunately. Thousands of people are leaving the country every year for a better life and I would love to be one of them. |

I have been in London for 4 days and that was enough to make it my goal to live in England. Well then again I LOVE gloomy wintry weather London has. Yeah you have to have a good income and live in a good neighbourhood if you want to raise your kids there. And one of my cousins says some English can be a bit racist. But thats a few old people. Except that drawback according to her life in England is as good as life in a rainy, gloomy weathered paradise. |

Depends on what part of the UK, and what your income is - but generally ( for the average joe ) no - I left for that reason after having lived there for 11 years - the government education system is rotten, the kids are largely from single parent homes, drugs are rife, the gun crime is increasing exponentially, it is expensive to rent, and most other amenities are expensive - gas, electricity, travel and telecomunications. Because of the weather kids don't tend to do a lot of outdoor sports. It's not a place I would want to raise my children. On other hand as a young adult it is great - there is work if you are willing to work hard, there is a lot of nightlife, drugs are rife, everything is available for a price and if you have money no door is closed to you. Same as most places. :) |

Don't bother it's too expensive, knife crime, drug crime, just about all manner of crime is big in the UK.
As for raising a family, go live somewhere else where you can live in peace without being fleeced by the tax man. |
