Depends on your concept of "best".

Some of the best beaches to watch nature and birds can be found in Norfolk. There are great reserves around the coast.

Best coastline for surfing try North Devon or Cornwall.

Aden
Northumberland for beaches and Nature.
Newcastle Upon Tyne, for more.

My 3 favourite places in the UK are:

Lake District.

Givendale.

A beach, I forget the name, slightly north of St. Andrews. Acres of sand and solitude.

Cornwall and Devon are both places of outstanding natural beauty. I have lived in both places. Devon has beautiful beaches and Dartmoor national park. Lots of trees.
Cornwall is more barren and stark but the beaches are stunning.
If you choose Cornwall go to Penzance then Lands End and Sennen, Porthcurno and maybe the Scilly Isles. You will be blown away. Quite literally.
Also if thinking of a summer visit, the west coast of Scotland, again quite stark and barren but also very breathtaking landscape and stunning beaches.

The best beaches are in Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK. Take look at the link, the beach is called "barafundle".

adam r
lake district,simply stunning place

The Lake District is gorgeous and there's plenty to do, but I'd also recommend Cornwall - the beaches there are fantastic and are renowned across the UK as top surfing spots. Plus there's the Eden Project which looks absolutely fascinating. The scenery in Cornwall is lovely too and neighbouring county Devon has a lot to offer as well in terms of nature, scenery and beaches.

The most spectacular scenery though is in the Scottish highlands - the mountains and lochs (or lakes) up here will take your breath away.

alphacenturi
