Absolutely anywhere in the Highlands!
I recently went camping around the highlands and was warmly welcomed everywhere I went! (I'm from Essex!)
We found a lovely campsite right on Loch Ness where every morning I woke up, opened the tent and was 4 foot from the loch! The campsite manager helped me and my friend to pitch our tent on the very hard gravelly site!
I found most of the scots VERY friendly!
Enjoy! |

Glasgow is way more friendlier than say Edinburgh. Lots to see and do. |

The Highlands, such as Fort Augustus, Drumnadrochit, Skye. A very warm Highland welcome awaits you there and all over the Highland West Coast, places too numerous to mention. |

Nowhere if you are English, lots of Scottish people dislike the English with a passion, sad but true, |

Dumfries and Galloway, beautiful part of the world and just over the border! |

I come from the highlands near Inverness but study in Glasgow. Definitly prefer Glasgow (although do enjoy a visit home). Some of the most friendly people are from Glasgow. And its good for a night out. Since you are just visiting its unlikely you would be in the rough areas that people hear about.
Go to Glasgow for the banter and shopping and Edinburgh for the culture. Having said that, you can't beat a trip up Loch Ness. |

Glasgow probably (in and around the city centre).
The people are very friendly and will help you out if you get lost. A lot of places to see, great shopping and public transport to and from is superb.
Could easily go to Edinburgh for a day when staying in Glasgow as you are not very far from anywhere. |
