I suggest taking one of the double-decker tour buses to see the city. It takes you to all of the major sights and you can get off the bus at anytime and pick up another one when you are ready. All for one ticket.

Here's the info for one of them:

the london eye is aaamazing. biggest ferris wheel in the world i think. you go in this large glass capsule instead of a little car. it take about 30-45 min to go around and it never stops spinning so you kinda hop on and off but it's really cool and totally worth doing.
for shopping, go to harrods. absolutely amazing. it's huge and has the biggest selection of everything in fashion. great fun!

Depends what you're into. As far as music goes then there's Koko in Camden for live bands, Roadhouse for live cover bands in Covent Garden (open till 3 every night except Sunday), Turnmills and Fabric for hardcore dancers in Smithfields (open till early morning), Chinawhite for rich posers with more money than sense.

There are too many good restaurants to list but my faves at the moment are La Porte Des Indes (Indian) in Marble Arch, Quaglinos (British) in Green Park near Ritz), La Poule au Pot (French) in Pimlico and for breakfasts/lunches or with kids Giraffe (Battersea and Marylebone).

As for sightseeing you can't go wrong with the London hop on hop off bus tour, the London Eye, The Tower of London, Hyde Park, a show at the theatre, afternoon tea at the Ritz, seeing street performers in Covent Garden or walking along the riverside in the evening (If it's dry).

Me & my family are going to have a London fun day out. so for sightseeing, I suggest:

Regent’s Park:

Avenue Gardens/English Gardens/Bog Gardens
Boating Lake
Queen Mary’s Gardens (including Restaurant)
London Zoo
Primrose Hill (great view, apparently)

Piccadilly Circus:

Buildings with technological screens lol(when you come out of the station)

Hyde Park Corner area:

Hyde Park (Including Princess Diana’s memorial, 1.2km from station)
Buckingham Palace (Queen’s residence)
Queen Victoria’s memorial
The Mall (1km long)
Clarence House (Prince Charles, Prince William & Prince Harry’s Residence)
St. James’ Park (including Restaurant)
Big Ben (in Paliament Square)
London Eye (seen on opposite bank in Victoria Embankment)
Trafalgar Square (across the road from the end of The Mall)

Hard to know where to begin! If you've never been to London before I would suggest The London Eye, a tourist bus like another poster suggested, a boat trip on the Thames, St Paul's Cathedral, St James's Park, Covent Garden, Chinatown.

The main shopping streets are Oxford Street and Regent Street - there's enough in those two streets to keep you occupied for a long time! There are so many clubs, pubs and restaurants I couldn't possibly recommend particular ones, but the Soho area is brimming with all three.

Hope you enjoy yourself!

Pull a rabbit out of an empty hat. People would love that.

Sitting in a glass box suspended above the River Thames, however, would be frowned upon.

the best thing you can do in London is catch a bus back home girl. because they will eat you alive down there given half a chance

Mr Help
Best things to do in London:

1) **** on the doorsteps of Buckingham Palace
2) Hire a prostitute
3) Kill a pigeon
4) Shout racist slurs in Brixton
5) Annoy a palace guard
6) *** off the London Eye
7) Scream at a copper
8) Go on the London Underground
9) Get Naked on Big Ben (thats the name of a London pimp by the way)
10) Through Haggis at Gordon Brown

Enjoy!!!
