There are too many outdated stereotypes of Britain, silly american comedy shows like the Simpson's give other cultures a bad name.

We don't have bad teeth, were generally not snobby and most of us at the moment are not rich considering the current financial climate (no thanks to the Americans!). And we don't talk like the queen.

I feel most people here in London and across the country are generally nice, you can always have a conversation with a cab driver, or smile at somebody in the street and not get frowned upon! I always get a sense of community where I live, people stick together and i always have a conversation with my neighbor.

There are always going to be those stuck up business people, but not just in Britain, all across the world.

We have a bad reputation, especially in other European countries. The French and Spanish view us as a load of yobs - can't blame them really, we holiday in their countries and act like complete hooligans.

though we hate rudeness
like people pushing in the lines etc
nicking your parking space while you let the other driver out.
hate anyone who breaks the laws
there are gangs and many problems
crime is rising
and this country is very over crowded and very expensive

have you not heard that the uk is in the beginning of a recession.
unemployment is rising every day.

i would stay where you are or choose another country.

London is a nice city, good for work, tourism etc.

But if i could move anywhere i think it would be either Manchester or Liverpool, people there are much more friendly whereas Londoners are quite cold and distant towards anyone!

The only benefit of London would be the job aspect but with the recession hitting us, maybe now isn't the time to be jumping ship!

Have seen a lot of England, I found the people friendly, helpful, ready to chat to strangers in the pub, and polite.
The English have an excellent sence of humour.
The only rude prople I have ever met in England were other foreigners living there.

Im from the UK, England.
Liverpool in fact, probably one of the most slagged off areas in England, but i cant say i can see many faults with it, yeah this city isn't perfect but where is ?
People see England as being full of people who sit around drinking tea, being snotty and watching too much football, wrong. i love England and i wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world. I think that you would love it here too if you was to give it a chance, why don't you come on holiday here for a few weeks get to know what its like before moving for permanently that could help your decision!

people who come over love the place because they are touring,
dont get me wrong, london is a lovely place just depends on what part
you thinking of moveing to. every place has its ups and its downs and no matter where you move you will always have places you hate or things you hate.

in general we're cool, depends on what part of britain you move to..dont move up north like manchester or liverpool..the people are horrible up there..london is really busy and mixed up..but in general we're just normal people on a normal island...god save the queen
