Personally I think that Newcastle and Sheffield are the friendliest cities I have visited where people seem most likely to help you out of you get lost, give you a smile etc
Ripon, York, Oxford, Cambridge, Bath and London have many tourist attractions, such as old spas, stately homes, famous architecture, museums etc.
Nightlife is meant to be pretty good in Liverpool (although I have not had a night out there), and London.
Cannot really say about Wales, Scot and NI as I don't know them well enough.
One thing I will say though, is that as far as tourist attractions go there are historical sites literally all over the place, castles, stately homes, standing stones, museums, galleries, famous buildings etc.

London is the best, I love London. It has it all, tourist attractions, nightlife, the lot. Also Southamptons a nice city, I live near it and it has great shopping!

London has everything you could possibly want for a visit. Parks, Museums,some of the best shopping in Europe, Nightlife etc etc

Oh you would love London, its great nightlife there.
I've also heard Manchester & Nottingham and Blackpool is great too.

Sheffield is a bit grim but has an amazing tram system and the people are friendly. Others worth a visit are Salisbury, Winchester (very posh) and Canterbury.

London is huge and has endless amounts of things to do. However, it is smoggy and expensive and I would hate to live there. And the tube is good but always busy and very dirty.

Been to all major uk cities.

Edinburgh - not too big but very cultural and decent nightlife.

Leeds - Friendly and good for shopping

Glasgow - Very Friendly and superb nightlife. Great Banter.

Manchester - Feels very metropolitan and great vibe. Good for live music.

London - Good to visit but nice to escape from. Very Expensive but loads to do. Tube sucks though. People are not the friendliest.
