Edinburgh is a must.
Starting at the top of the town, Edinburgh Castle is a must see for every visitor. It has a fascinating history, but what makes it really special are the views in every direction. Edinburgh Castle is cared for by Historic Scotland - www.historic-scotland.gov.uk
Next to the castle, the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre aims to bring 300 years of Scotch Whisky history to life. This interactive visitor attraction, allows you to experience whisky sights, sounds and smells, and gives the opportunity to discover how whisky is made. - www.whisky-heritage.co.uk
Just down the Royal Mile lies the Writers Museum. Situated in Lady Stair's House, built in 1622, The Writers' Museum is dedicated to the lives and work of Scotland's great literary figures, in particluar Robert Burns (1759 - 1796), Sir Walter Scott (1771 - 1832) and Robert Louis Stevenson (1850 - 1894). - www.cac.org.uk
Nearby to this lies the National Library of Scotland, Scotland's largest library and the world centre for the study of Scotland and the Scots. - www.nls.uk
Just Round the corner from this on Chambers St lies the Royal Museum run by National Museums of Scotland. This museum houses the international collections and contains an extraordinary range of material. - www.nms.ac.uk/royal
For some of the darker side of the city, visit the Edinburgh Dungeon. Witch-hunters, grave-robbers, murderers, cannibals, executioners - you will find them all here, along with their wretched victims. - www.thedungeons.com
Beneath the Royal Mile lies a warren of concealed streets where real people lived, worked and died in bygone centuries. Step back in time at The Real Mary King’s Close to walk through these hidden closes, some of which have never before been open to the public.
www.realmarykingsclose.com
Continuing into the underworld, you might want to experience one of Edinburgh's Ghost Tours with Mercat Tours. The gory, the ghoulish, the sinister and the haunted, creepy Underground Vaults - "possibly the most haunted place in Britain"! - lots to choose from - www.mercat-tours.co.uk
At the bottom end of the Royal Mile is the Palace of Holyrood - a royal residence as well as the new Scottish Parliament.
Next door to these attractions lies Our Dynamic Earth - an interactive visitor centre taking you on a thrilling journey back in time to learn about our planet Earth. - www.dynamicearth.co.uk
Elsewhere in the city you can visit treats like the Royal Yacht Britannia in Leith and The Royal Botanic Gardens.

I'd say Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Glasgow is really good for pubs and music, so I'd recommend trying to find a pub with a local band playing, because it's a fantastic experience. Or even just going to see a band itself. The Kelvingrove art Gallery is fantastic if you like art, and the West End of Glasgow (hillhead/ Byres Road area) is a really beautiful place, with really nice little shops and restaurants. Also, a night-time tour of the Necropolis is fantastic, it's really quiet and spooky.
Edinburgh is better if you like the whole touristy thing, because of Princes Street and Edinburgh Castle. The Edinburgh Dungeons are really fun to visit too, and the tour buses are a great way to kill time and see what you might have missed, although trying to find one that isn't overpriced is really hard.
Hope this helps! |

Edinburgh is a must see! Stirling is beautiful. I spent a week and a half in Scotland and we went and checked out a dozen or so castles. I would definitely recommend just walking around Edinburgh, checking out the shops and making your way up to the caste. |

Well you must visit Edinburgh, our capital, it's a breathtaking city and you really need 3-4 days in it alone. Aside from all the touristy things, remember to take a walk along Princes Street at night, the views of the castle are magical.
Spend a night or 2 in Glasgow, visit Kelvingrove and one or 2 other free museums, do some shopping and take in the nightlife.
Aberdeen is also a great city if you get the chance to visit.
Away from the cities, head to Stirling and take in the castle, Wallace monument and Bannockburn.
From there you can head into the Highlands, absolutely loads to see. Personal faves are Urquhart Castle on loch Ness, Fort George at Nairn, Glenfinnan Monument just outside Fort William (special place) Glencoe, Culloden at Inverness, Scone Palace in Perth, Eilean Donan castle, Skye, Mull and Iona, Spean bridge and Loch Lomond.
There's loads more, these are just my personal favourites, I'm sure I've missed loads out |

I love Edinburgh! But don't miss the opportunity to visit Glasgow and Aberdeen as well. For more tourist information you can see prontohotel.com/gbg/. Personally I like more the streets, the shops and the pubs, but there is also a lot of places and sites to see.
Good luck! |

Edinburgh is definitely the best place. From there if you are interested you can easily book bus trips that will take you all over Scotland - they have day trips, or if you're able and willing they sometimes have bus tours that can last up to a week which will take you around all the different castles and historical sites. For some of these it's advisable to book in advance as they can be quite popular. Just pop into the tourist information centre - they will be able to tell you about all the good places to go. :-) |

edinburgh (the right spelling from the first person) is good. you could do the castle, holyrood, princes street for shopping, dynamic earth (its a modern museum which is interactive and quite fun. :) and i dont like museumy things) and a walk over the forth road bridge.
glasgow is a riot. the shops are amazing and the pub/club scene is good if your into that. in glasgow there is alot to choose from aswell, you just have to go and pick up leaflets and things to actually see whats going on.
st andrews is good aswell. its the home of golf so make sure to have a game there even if your not very good. there is a ruin castle which i have never been in but seen (i just live over the water in dundee). the little shops are good and the all year christmas shop is a must (it is in the high street) and the owners are really funny in it. i wouldnt reccommend staying there for long maybe 3 days would be enough.
the lochs are a must. beautiful scenery just a great place. loch lomond is the best.
hope this has helped.

Glasgow's great for shopping. The west end of Glasgow is lovely., You should visit the pubs in Ashton Lane (Behind Hillhead underground station) and then Oran Mhor disco (in a converted church) if you like to drink and dance until late.
http://www.glasgowguide.co.uk/images_ashton_lane.html
You must have curry when you go to Glasgow (the best in any city possibly in the UK but I've not been to Bradford)
Loch Lomond and the village of Luss is an absolute must.
http://www.loch-lomond.net/
It's only about half an hour from Glasgow.
Edinburgh is beautiful although the nightlife isn't as good as in Glasgow.
St Andrews is lovely too.
If you have the time/money you should visit one or two of the islands. The most beautiful island I have been to is Islay but there are hundreds of them. Islay has about 5 or 6 distilleries. It's also worth visiting one of the more northern of the Western Isles where Gaelic is widely spoken. |
