If I had a chance I would pick London anytime.
Great transportation system.
People are friendly. Even the Bobby's are friendly.
One walked me all the way to a department store when I was there and I was lost.
Love the pubs and the atmosphere. Less rushed too. |

In the UK you can drink when you're 18, smoke where you want, watch TV without adverts interrupting you, eat decent food and not be overcome by fast food restaurants on every corner. You can spend a pound for each litre of petrol you want, but drive a small car so one litre goes a long way. In England we call everyone English, no matter where their grandparents came from.
In the US you can own a gun when you're 12, be cut off from the rest of the world and not know it, be PC but still not teach evolution in schools, and still have segregation. You can spend $2.70 on a gallon of gas, but you drive massive trucks that only give you 10 miles to the gallon. In America you're all so worried about you ancestors, i have still yet to meet one person who calls themselves American, it's always "I'm Irish/Scottish/Polish/German" why are Americans afraid to be Americans?!!!!
Is that good enough? I love America and England, but there is no way you could ever compare the two they are so diffrent and yet very alike! |

USA - crappy healthcare system, crappy mass transit system, crappy government.
I can't answer for the UK side of things because I don't know enough about it, but I know a lot of people my age (twenties) are dissatisfied with things in the States. |

In my opinion there are more similarities between the Americans and the English than differences, and what differences that do exist tend to be minor. This is largely because both countries share a western ideology--we value democracy, are industrialized and most people in both countries identify themselves as Christians. We even look alike; if you were walking down the street in London nobody would be able to tell you were an American until you said something to them, unless you were wearing something distinctly American (e. g. wearing a baseball t-shirt).
But there are major differences between the two countries, although it might not be obvious to a casual observer. One of the biggest differences--if not the biggest difference--between the two countries is religion. England is more secular than the U. S. In 2002 the Pew Center, a Washington based public opinion firm, reported that only 33 percent of the populace in England said religion was important in their lives. In the U. S. 59 percent of the populace said it was important in their lives. This may be because Americans and the English have different attitudes toward religion. In England it is often considered rude to ask what someone's religion is; it's thought of as a private matter. But in the U. S. people tend to assume religion is a public matter. In the southeastern part of the United States protestant-evangelical culture is pervasive, and it's not unusual for someone else to ask you what church you attend, or if your going to church on Sunday, which is often expected. This difference tends to reflect the cliche that Americans tend to be more extraverted and that the English tend to be more introverted.
There are definitely more major differences than religion, and it is a complex question because the U. S. is a large country comprising of many regions which have their own unique identities. Somebody from the rural south would view England differently from somebodby in New York because of regional differences. I hope this helps a little bit. |

Well !!!! The differnce i would like to say in terms of education..1. Pretty costly, than America, yet worth it.
2. The standard , course content is class apart, which all American institutions can not offer, leaving a few.
3. Given a chance i prefer, U K education any time superior.
4. Savings are more in U S than European countries., that however depends on how we live.. |
