a huge difference between the North and South of England, is that there are more people who live in the North (5 of 10 major English cities are situated in the North. The South only has two and the Midlands has 3.

Food is more hearty in the north than what you get in the South. dishes such as Lancashire Hotpot and Yorkshire puddings often take the best part of a day to complete, whereas in the South, the meals are more ready made or made within an hour or two.

The general pace of life in the North is much slower than in the South. People from the North don't really see the need to rush themselves. Northerners are much more friendlier than in the Southerners.

There is lots of industry in the North, unlike the South where there isn't.

Landscape wise, the North tends to be more mountainous and hilly than in the South, as we have the Pennines up here, along with the lake district.

Northern people are funnier, warm, more friendly and much more welcoming than those in the South. We know this because they tell us constantly and if you don't believe them they will jump on your head.

The north is freezing all year round. But I love it.

The North is better. I mean look at it this way, we have:
Jack the Ripper
Shannon Matthews
Ian Huntley
Dame Judi Dench
Yorkshire pudings
The Dales
Ian Brady & Myra Hindley
Mushy peas
Rain
Parkin
Rowntrees
Pontefract cakes
Curry.

What more could you ask for!?

THe weather is much the same the landscape .there are lovely places around the yorkshire moors and Whitby is lovely Food lovely in north a lot more home grown or local food People much more friendly up north life is a much slower pace up north I don't know why I live south?

North is generally colder, more mountainous, thicker accents, meals tending to be a the 'ready/fast' type unless there is a more mature woman doing the cooking - and between two and three hundred miles !

It's easier to get to Scotland from the north.

The south coast is the most urbanised what with London and all.
The weather - it's rainier and slightly colder up north.
The people - well this is just stereotypes bear in mind but the northerners are more rowdy and alcoholly lol. There is also typically more "old" industry up north.
The north does tend to be friendlier in my experience though.
Food - fairly similiar all over.

The South rebelled against the federal government over the issue of Welsh slavery.

The North defeated the South and the Welsh were freed, but they continue to suffer unequal treatment even today.

wait...maybe i have the wrong country.
