What are the most important things to take with you to the Glastonbury festival?

I know the obvious such as tent etc. But when you are camping for 4 nights and having to carry stuff it it quite a difficult thing to prepare for if you haven't been before. General tips are also welcome

A tin for your weed; and I'd highly recommend a bumbag for your valuables, and sleep with it round your waist!

Plan your clothes in layers - so take warm weather clothes such as teeshirts and light trousers, and then a couple of long sleeved tops, hoodies or whatever and a woolly hat, rather than carrying bulky coats or anything like that. A blanket would be awesome coz you can sleep under it in your tent and its great for sitting round the campfires when it gets chilly in the evening!

Loads of beer and alcohol - you can take as much in as you like which will save money BUT don't try and take any glass!!! It will be confiscated, and anyway it's not nice for the cows. Dried (not tinned) food and a mini-camping stove if you're on a budget, but if you're not on a tight budget - well Glasto has the best food in the world, so don't worry about it. You can even eat free if you know where to look......

Waterproof poncho or coat, and something which will keep your feet dry - if it rains (and it is forecast to!) then wellies on site will cost a fortune and the queues will be like post-communist Russia. Lots of clean dry socks - again, if it rains the one thing you'll appreciate more than anything is not having damp socks all weekend.

Take as much cash as you think you need and will be happy to lose - ie, there ARE cash machines on site, BUT the queues are enormous! So try and take it with you if you aren't going to worry to much about losing it - which is always a risk.

A spare phone battery or spare phone, if you have one? Again, there are places to charge your phone, but the queues can be enormous.

BOG ROLL!!!! Essential!! Never leave the tent without one ha ha ha!

Chewing gum - for when you simply can't be arsed to brush your teeth anymore.

Don't worry about taking water - there's absolutely tons of drinking water taps around the site, and so you only need to make sure you bring a bottle to carry it in - probably a big one for your campsite and a little one to carry.

Sunscreen - you can also get this free on site if you know where to look, but if the weather is hot, it will run out.

And lastly, a little rucksac to take things around the site with you for the day - Glasto is huge, and you ain't going to be wanting to go back to your tent 8 times a day for stuff.

Above all, just remember that anything you need or have forgotten can be bought on site really - there are hundreds of shops selling as much practical stuff as you can imagine.

HAVE AN AMAZING TIME **** YOU WILL!!!!**** SEE YOU AT THE TINY TEA TENT!!!!!! Hxx

Personally I would take toilet paper, my tent, sleeping bag, water, wellies (patterned ones) and not much else - don't take any thing you would have to leave in your tent when seeing the cool bands.... (just in case - ity's better to be safe than sorry)

Ziploc ZIpper Plastic Bags, Wellies or Crocs- Box of flushable wipes, Granola or energy bars, WATER, sunscreen, MONEY!

k
All you will need is a couple of loo rolls and wellington boots.

Forget the tent, as quiet a few people have had the tent and ALL the contents stollen - just take what you can ACTUALLY carry with you.

You should go to the Glasto website, http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk Navigate to the forums and then to infoman, you will find all the information you need there. Have fun!
