Australia and USA because they speak the same language and we made them along with a few other nations but mainly us. :)

tinkabex
the USA because our former pm (tony laughable blair) couldnt get any further up george bush's butt

Mr Answerman
Bermuda...it's where they shell off all of their surplus to sell to tourists.

USA cos they told us so.

rachael.millymoohead
certainly not Ireland thats for sure!

i agree Australia probably, some would say USA. depends what way you look at it really

Ken B
None of the english speaking countries.
The one closest to us in attitudes and sense of humour is Denmark, probably because of our common heritage.

fluster
I find there is a strong bond with Norway. Similar quiet resolve.

I agree, wehave the most in common with Australia because maybe 75-80% of their population are of direct British ancestry, and this has led to similar attitude and characteristics of the two nationalities.
Any rivalry is almost always good humoured rather than aggressive.

after that maybe the countries of Scandinavia or the Low Countries, because they are our neighbours but unlike some other continentals they all speak our language, have always been on our side in wars and rarely have the cheek to beat us at football ! (well mostly speaking for England there !)

It is not the US. that we have little in common, and are on an unequal footing. Yes Oz/ NZ we share the same sense of humor for one thing!

dangel
At the moment I'd say any rain forest in the world our weathers that chuffing bad!!!!

Ark
It kinda depends on the PM. With Thatcher it was America since her and Reagan were well close Buddy's. Major, well no one, everyone hated him.(to weak). With Blair its gotta be America, obviously the war and Bush. And Brown its also America. So its America. Because of the economic strength and the political ideology. This has been a problem, since the rest of the Eu hate their 'special relationship' Of course some argue that we should be closer to France and Germany. On Australia i think we are close since of the Commonwealth and the queen. The PM John Howard isn't as close with our PM. So i hope that helps

There is not a country that UK (or do you mean the English?) bond with that well. This is usually down to an historic event (war etc) or sport! From a language point of view Australia must be near the top followed by New Zealand. Perhaps politically people think the US but when it comes to getting on with another culture the people of the UK find this difficult to do!
