Well, I love Scotland and wouldn't want to live anywhere else! Yeah, the weather's not fantastic, but it's really not so different from English weather! The vast majority of people are friendly and it's just a great place to live!

And to answer your question sjr, half the population of Edinburgh is English - so it works both ways! If it was so bad here why would they all come?

i live in scotland

had a girfriend over from canada , and she didnt want to go home ,came over for 3 weeks , stayed for 3 months , she thinks scotland is so beautiful

and seeing it afresh through her eyes i have to agree

we see it everday and dont realise just how lucky we are

as for the people saying theres lots of jocks in england , thats an economical thing

i would ask them why all the holiday homes in scotland are bought by english people ???

all the best
Ian

We moved here a year ago. The quality of life, compared to London, is much better. Apart from anything else, we can get so much done when we go out!

In London, it often took a whole day to go out to do one thing - because of the transport/time involved. Here, we can be anywhere in the city within half an hour and move on to the next task immediately.

People are nicer, too.

Still in Stockbridge!

I think its ace, I am moving there in 5 weeks and i cannot wait!

I've never lived in Scotland but I visited it. My favourite place was Edinburgh. I wouldn't mind to live there. Inverness was quite nice too. But like I said I was a tourist there and people have a different perception of the place when they are just visiting. Why, are you thinking of moving there?
Forgot to mention, very friendly people so unlike the South despite the fact I could hardly understand some of them ;o)
Beautiful scenery

Moved here in 1976 and it was the best thing I ever done

If you can afford to live in a small town compared to the city then you are on a winner.

Love Scotland. Has advantages and disadvantages like everywhere else. The people are lovely. Particularly in Glasgow, which is also a beautiful historic city. Find it more on a 'human scale' than Edinburgh.

I like living here. I've lived here almost 41 years & wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Welcome to Scotland - we are the friendlies people in the UK. I live just outside Glasgow but in Glasgow there is a lot of immigrants from Asia and Poland and most of them are taking over all the jobs available. In the central area there is high unemployment because of the immigrants, they work for less than the minimum wage, the housing situation is bad, around 10 years to wait for a reasonable flat. Racial hatred it quite bad in Scotland, mainly because of the airport bombers but apart from that we will always welcome you to visit Scotland.

Raine
wouldnt live there myself, its always cold and miserable weather
