It's a magnet for desperados from the thirld world who come here to get some sort of a life so for them it's the ultimate destination as they would have nowhere else to go to..

But if you aren't after "a life" and can be somewhere else civilized then be somewhere else, chances are the food will be healthier and cheaper, friends will be wanting to be friends even next month and life will be of a better standard overall.

I want to move to England too. I've never been to London but it looks and sounds fabulous.

Expensive but you'd love it. So much history and so much fun. The people are polite and helpful. The country is gorgeous.

i only visited for about 3 weeks, but I loved it. the british food wasn't fabulous, but the ethnic food was great - especially the indian food. they don't use a lot of the seasonings that we americans are used to. london is expensive compared to the states - just multiply the cost of everything times two (more or less!) but the people seemed great, i had a lot of fun, the city is pretty, the public transportation is FANTASTIC. (i live in LA where the public transportation is lacking...) there is always something to do. great hip hop scene. hope that helps some. oh yeah, and something that i really, really loved - I was there over the summer and it didn't get dark until about 10pm! i loved that!

Although I don't live in London, I have worked there. Yes it can be cold, but we have fantastic shops, tons and tons of history and great pubs too. We've also got Harrods!!! Camden Market is worth checking out though if you like that sort of thing. http://www.camdenlock.net/markets.html check it out.

I go into London for concerts now and again and to meet friends and find that it's a hub of activity.

If you're a millionaire, it's just great.
I loved all the buildings, museums, theatres, everything.
The people are fun to listen to, and I loved the fact that everything has a long history to it.
Winter is truly winter---it's pitch black from 4pm on---which makes being safe kind of scary, if crime has risen like the papers say it has.
It costs a fortune now----in 1972, it cost 50p ($1.00) to ride the tube---now it's $8.00! If the tube costs that much, I can't imagine how expensive everything else is.

Emily
Filthy and not that safe (depends which area you're living in), expensive.
