London has a diverse and interesting population and there is always something entertaining going on. Someone (does anyone know who)once said when you are tired of London you are tired of life. I lived there for two years in the seventies and loved it but now only pass through on business. There is much to find fault with like anywhere but you can have a good time and don't need to spend a fortune to have fun unless you want to. |

its grey, its dirty, choc full of traffic and is probably THE city to visit outside new york...
and although its all of the above, its a city which has stoof for almost 2000 years... new york was built 150 years ago, and its already a filthy stinking cesspit of humanity... with a few bright lights...
remember london had an underground railway whhile the yanks were throwing smallpox blankets to the Indians... and riding horses... |

It's a great city. All British people should be proud to have it as their capital city. The vast majority of overseas visitors love London. It's sad to see that the only people running it down are a section of the British people. But then they haven't a good word to say about anything. |

I hate London. It isn't beautiful, it's too expensive, the people in shops and actually more or less everywhere are rude, everyone is obsessed with money, social status and also clothes, their 'career', homes and cars etc. It doesn't even have a particularly exciting night life. The pubs are nearly all boring, the bars and night clubs are either cheap and nasty and full of chavs or if not, expensive, stuck up and snotty which means either way they are awful. The girls are also snotty and stuck up, even the really really ugly ones. The crime rate is also extremely high and many streets are no go areas if you're white or middle class. Catch the wrong person's eye and you might get spat at, sworn at, mugged or even stabbed. The cockneys are also rude, sarky and snyde towards outsiders. It's the worst big city with the worst atmosphere overall that I've ever spent time in. |

'There's a hole in the world like a great dark pit
and it's filled with people who are filled with sh*t
and the vermin of the world inhabit it
and it goes by the name of London'
(Sondheim, Sweeney Todd)
The centre is great fun to visit with lovely architecture and lots to do. The suburbs are mainly horrible! Although expensive, there are bargains to be found and I found Oxford Street shops cheaper than my local area (Canterbury!) Like most places, it's great if you have money to enjoy it. |

Its over rated, expensive and full of people who try to rip you off!
Nuff said. |

Expensive, dirty, noisy, overrated and full of rip off merchants whose only aim in life is to part you from your money in the least possible time, I admit that there are some great buildings in London, but as there is a charge to see most ,if not all of them, (including St. PauI's and the Abbey) I am willing to give the place a miss. |
