I have great memories of Rhyl from when I was a kid,so I went back only a few weeks ago to scatter some of my Mum's ashes there and was shocked at just how badly it has gone down hill-it's really run down now,the shops and houses and attractions on the front are really dilapidated and it just seems so neglected these days which is a real shame as it used to be a nice place. Can't say I'd be keen on going back there again anytime soon. |

NEEDS a lot of work doing to it. to bring it up to it's past glory
although some of it is good,
like the theatre & swimming pool, and cinema.
all on the seafront. |

It used to be great,we went a lot years ago, then stopped going as it went run down and virtually derelict.
We stayed at Pontins in Prestatyn a few weeks ago and decided to go to rhyl for a few hours and we were pleasantly surprised by the new small funfair on the front, however we had 3 small children with us and the prices for the rides were extortionate, than we went to the seaworld place that cost us over £25 for the family to enter, and we were out of there again after about 10 minutes,it was tiny!!
So there you have it,wont be going again or recommending it to anyone either. |

It did get run down a few years ago but they have invested in a revamp. The North end of the promenade is crummy but there is a multi-million pound refurbishment going on at the moment. They have already started to pull down the old funfair.
In a couple of years it might be back to it's glory days. |

Have a cousin living there, and went to see him about three years ago. Loved the shopping. Nice scenery. Some parts of the town are better than others. Didn't really do the tourist bit, as no children in family. The travelling is so horrendous from Devon, that probably won't go again, but that is no reflection on the area. |

I've only been there once, but I was working at the time. (I was putting up marquees in near by Denbiegh)
The countryside is very nice and scenic up there, nice place from the looks of it. |

It's dirty and run down, pity because it used to be quite nice in the '70s. |

I like it! I know a lot of people slag it off, but I was brought up in seaside towns and it reminds me a lot of Paignton. It is a bit run-down, but that's why I like it.
The beach is AWESOME! That's why I like it so much. It's massive!! We went for a day trip a couple of weeks ago and had such a good time.
That Skytower is a rip-off though. There's no way we got our full 4 minutes! |

Oh, lovely. Like Salford-on-Sea. Big concrete wall so you can't see the sea anyway. |
