God mentioned to one of his angels that he going to give Scotland beautiful mountains, magnificent scenery, healthy fertile soil, clean fresh water, seas filled with wonderful seafood, forests filled with strong sturdy trees, and the people an inbuilt sense of value, fairness & goodwill.

The angel asked " God, don't you think you're being a bit generous to the Scots"

"Not at all" God replied " Wait till you see the F'n neighbours I'm giving them ! "

I went there this past summer, it is absolutely gorgeous. Without a doubt the prettiest place I have ever been(and I've been to Vermont, California, Bahamas, England, Ireland, and Wales). It's very green and wet. Where I visited it was a coastline beach with old, abandoned lighthouses and a cemetery. There are few people where I was so it was very relaxing. I remember hears the waves, seeing the seagulls, and feeling the wind. I'll never forget it. I hope to retire there when I'm old.

are you visiting? you HAVE to the haggis tour http://www.haggisadventures.com/

and trying haggis at the end is totally worth it! the scottish people are very friendly and warm, and the drinking is typical with the rest of europe.

Scotland's a beautiful place, and the best part is it's empty, the population is only 5 million, there's more people in London that there is in the whole of Scotland.

i don't really know but my best friend went there and he explained it like this:
-really clean
-alot of green land
-everyones generally friendly
*he likes it better there but wouldn't live there
=) &everyone has an awesome accent!

NO WAY....i'm from scotland!!!!! my great great grandparents moved here in 1902.we visit there every summer and it is a sight. we heard sheep on my aunts farm and it's so nice to feel the wind as it brushes over the tall grass. We also visit the Sr. William Wallas Memorial- P.S. think of Brave Heart. we also see the castles....OH MY WORD they'll take your livin' breath away don't they. they'll be set at tall hills over a bridge or even on one along with a sweet lake beside it to calm your nerves of daily life. some wonder how i get straight A's and the answer is these summer trips to our homeland.

i hope you go sometime, because it will change your life if you know where your goin'

I imagine Scotland is a beautiful place with loads of lakes, forests and scotch ;P
I like the kilts and the bagpipes. I think people there should be really nice.
I really would like to go there, as my great-grand father was scottish.
I know, a bit far from me, but I still carry the Scottish genes (I'm red-haired, and my beard is even more red) :)

I think it is a beautiful country! I wish I lived there (being part scottish). The food doesn't sound nice but ut's actually not that bad. The people are so friendly (family and drama teacher are scottish)

Scotland is very much similar to England, Ireland and Wales topograpically (landscape), just with a bit more mountains! The food id exactly the same too, pretty much the same as the food in the U.S! People - generally nice and really fun to be around, however, most Scots have a long term rivalry with the British - lost of history there (Braveheart)

Edunburgh is the capital but if you're looking for sports head to Glasgow, one of the biggest football (soccer) derbies in the world, its a city divided by Religion, Celtic = Catholics from immigrant Irish peasants from years ago and Rangers = Protestants from English background. Huge history there!

Hope that helped :)
