I visit family in the UK every other year... You'll need your passport and driver's license if you plan on renting a car. It's a good idea to make photocopies of both of these leaving a set of copies with a family member or trusted friend here in the states and another photocopy in your baggage. I usually black out the actual passport and driver's license numbers on the copy that I put in my bag... I do it so that if my luggage gets lost they'll see that I have ID in there and the airline can look up my info.
And that one guy is right... bring A LOT of money... one pound is more than 2 dollars US.
If you're staying for an extended period you'll need to make sure you obtain the proper visa/permit.

You should be ok but bring proof of where your staying who your staying with and contact numbers for them (and your hotel) a return ticket is also a plus. Also make sure that you have nothing that is suspisious on you like documents of trying to get a job. But if your here on a holiday chances are you wont get stopped unless you look like a terrorist. Oh an the obvious one is your passport! dont forget that! |

when i went to london i only had to to have my passport. i would bring a birth certificate as well just in case and id of course |
