GBP means Great Britain Pound and just refers to our currency here in the UK. Pounds Sterling. Are you saying that food prices (for example) are much the same in the US and why are you moving to England ? I live in England myself but I am originally from Northern Ireland. HANNAH IS WRONG WHEN SHE SAYS THAT THE UK IS ONE OF THE FEW COUNTRIES IN EUROPE THAT DOES NOT USE THE EURO ALONG WITH N. IRELAND. THIS IS WRONG BECAUSE N. IRELAND IS PART OF THE UK !!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Great British Pound. Also called Pound Sterling, sometimes.
£1 = $2
£1 = €1.3
$1 = €0.64
(approx.)
Currently the GPB isn't doing so well with exchange rates (neither is the dollar I hear).
Most of Europe does use the Euro now, but the UK is one of the countries which doesn't, along with..
N.Ireland, Sweden, Latvia, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Lithuania, Estonia, Czech, Denmark and Bulgaria. |
