The favourite British dish is curry!
Specifically a dish called Chicken Tikka Masala.
For breakfast people eat a cereal with full cream milk, such as corn flakes followed by tea (milk and sugar) or Nescafé, and perhaps buttered toasted bread with jam or marmalade. Those who eat cooked breakfast have either bacon and eggs, sausages, beaked beans, scrambled eggs, kippers etc. In Scotland porridge is still popular.
Lunch is usually a sandwich bought near the office.
Dinner: Made up dishes from the supermarket are very popular as are 'carry-out' takeaways from Chinese or Indian restaurants or fish and chips. Frozen food, especially fish fingers.
Home cooked foods include mince and potatoes, roast chicken or beef, lamb (with mint sauce), Meat pies,
sausages, steak, chops, stew. Most homes also cook spaghetti & lasagne with a meat sauce, and all kinds of curries. Tinned baked beans on toast are incredibly popular as are pizzas.
Traditional family Sunday lunch with a large piece of roast meat, potatoes, peas, beans, turnip, or parsnip, etc is still the norm in England.
Puddings are usually bought yoghourt or someting from the supermarket. Trifle and traditional puddings such as spotted dick (dick is an old word for pudding!) are still made.
Sadly traditional cooking is dying out in London. People say that they just do not have the time when they get home from work to made good meals. Cooking is no longer taught in school so Londoners get more and more unhealthy and fat. |

They eat the same as you. British however are fond of taking tea with an assortment of pastries and bread and finger sandwiches (cucumber sandwiches).
IF you are going to travel to London, buy a map first and foremost. It will give you a list of all the subway stations, plus the layout of the city.
If you happen to have a question, ask! Someone will help you for sure. They DO speak English there ;) |

We eat a varied diet lol and BS to say all we eat is cucumber sandwiches and fish and chips lol Most of us do not live in some old ta ta british posh film with tea and scones at 5pm while the butler brings it in and neither do we all sit and bung some cheapo steak pie from the local no frills store and microwave it while sitting in poverty in the old charles dickens London lol :-)
we are pretty much normal average lot who pretty much have what you do :0)
My friends, me, my hubby and family all eat:
Spaghetti bolonaise
Chili con Carney
Baked potatoes and cheese or with chili
Stir fry:
to name but a few!
we eat:
Mexican food
Italian food
French food
American food such as burgers
Sausages and bacon
rolls , baguettes and sandwiches
cold meats
hot meats
chicken and chicken dishes
beef and beef dishes
pork
lamb
Shepherds pie
Roast dinner
Pizza
Indian food
Chinese
deserts such as apple crumble or modern such as mousse or roulade or chocolate or ice cream or one of my faves is Strudel which is German!
Not all of us have frozen dinners all the time and most of the above I can cook!
yes we Brits have ready meals like most western countries do but not all of us just buy that or just have take aways!
Not sure where your from but we have pretty much what you eat (if your from the USA that is)
we eat bagels and creme cheese here and we also have waffles and pancakes and muffins and coffee etc just perhaps done a little differently!
Yes we have the traditional UK foods but so much of that now has been either reinvented or changed or just not done.
We have such a variety of foods and cultures here that we may end up eating polish or russian or thai or indian lol
we now also have fusion cooking so even more to mix up! |

My family is from Wales and we always have roast beef and Yorkshire pudding for Christmas. British people are fond of their puddings. Savory puddings (not sweet) are eaten with the main meal, and sweet puddings are eaten with dessert.
BTW: Puddings are different than American pudding. What we normally think of as pudding, they call custard.
One of my personal favorites is steak and kidney pie. |

Most answers were correct. The strangest thing I seen people eat was .... Beans and Toast. For breakfast. I tried it. If you eat it while its hot, its not gross. But I think its just a filler.... weird though, 2 pieces of toast , beans piled on top. |
