I think it would be just England, Wales and Scotland

Dover Soles
The UK MAINland consists of all the main parts of England, Scotland and Wales but EXCLUDES AL L islands even if they are connected by a bridge to the mainland, although areas which are separated by a river (Cornwall for example) ARE included.

I can't believe all these wrong answers.
Great Britain is England, Scotland and Wales but the UK includes Northern Ireland. I know because as an Irishman you never dared to mention the words "UK" as you meant you gave creditability to the occupation in the 6 counties of my country. It was only ever used by the British.
However, since the Good Friday agreement it is acknowledged. Peace.

It mostly covers a lot of rocks, ranging from some of the oldest granite in the world,in the north-west of Scotland, to some of the youngest marl in the world,on the south coast of England. The Welsh needn't feel slated however, because they have some of the best slate in the world. The answer you may be looking depends on whether you mean geographical, political, or postal cover. For example,Anglesey is not geographically part of the mainland, but is regarded as being so for postal purposes.,as are some others of the islands that lie close to the shore.
