GMT - this is where it comes from Greenwich Mean Time - it also has a tunnel under the Thames that you can walk through, you can get a boat from Greenwich and ride down the Thames and see lots of interesting things - you can also visit the Thames Barrier.
GMT (greenwich mean time). There is also a lovely under-river footpath, a gorgeous indoor market, museums and is near the 02 centre.

Greenwich Meridian or the Prime Meridian (0 degrees longitude) runs through the Royal Observatory on the hill in Greenwich Park, giving its name to Greenwhich Mean Time (GMT) which the worlds clock is measured against, i.e east coast USA time is -5 gmt. Greenwhich also has a massive maritime history, it is the home of the Royal Naval College which is now part of the National Maritime Museum, and the fastest tea clipper of its day the Cuttysark is dry docked there. it also has a cool funky covered market.
