There isn't one post code for England. Different areas have different postal codes. It doesn't just differ form town to town it differs from street to street.
The Royal Mail website can help you if you can be more specific.

it depends on the actual address. each street / road etc has its own.

There are lots of different postal codes for areas within the UK, but if you don't know the code for the person you are writing to, at least make sure you write the house number, road, town, county and UK on the envelope - the postman should then be able to deliver it.

Salamo alaikum abdelhade

Each street has a different postal code.

EXAMPLE: a street in Sheffield would be something like S10 6gh

the s for sheffield the 10 for the area

a street in the city of Hull would be something like : Hu12 7fl

We need a region and address to help you.

There is a postal code system for the United Kingdom. Details can be found at the Royal Mail site:

Each area has its own, so it depends on the address.

Every street, part of a street, office building, or large business has its own postal code. If you know the address you can use the Royal Mail website here --> http://postcode.royalmail.com/portal/rm/postcodefinder?catId=400145&pageId=pcaf_pc_search&gear=postcode to find the postcode.

There is nothing in the postcode itself which state the country, you simply put the regional code then write United Kingdom underneath.

Also google Royal Mail or Post Office.

the code for the House of Commons is SW1A 0AA

The 'Outward' part of the postcode denotes the postal district - for example RH for the Redhill area, and then the following number distinguishes the Posttown - broadly speaking the Delivery Office which services the local area. So RH1 is Redhill itself, RH10 is Crawley. With larger towns there may be more than 1 number in the outward section - Crawley includes RH10 and RH11. The 'Inward' part denotes particular parts of the town / Delivery Office area, with the first part - the number - being an area, and the final two letters denoting a group of houses within that area.

You may see a series of five-digit codes on business mail. This is called Mailsort— but is only available for mailings of 'a minimum of 4,000 letter-sized items'.[6] Mail users who handover mail to Royal Mail sorted by Mailsort code receive discounts based on the type of mail and level of sorting they do.
