What is Walmart? (I'm from the UK so don't know)?

In the UK, we don't have Walmart, but I hear everyone from the US going on about it all the time.

WalMarts are very large stores that sell just about everything. Many of the goods are generic or 'cheap' and so have lower prices; others are brand names sold in large quantities so that they can charge a little less than other stores. WalMart is notorious for driving other, smaller stores out of business; paying crappy wages with little or no benefits; and hiring illegals because they can be paid even less. Over 90% of the manufactured items they sell are imports from China, contributing to the decline of American manufacturing; and their house brand pet food 'Old Roy' is crap. The people who bag your groceries are frequently retards (literally); the greeters are geriatrics who can't remember their own name, let alone point you to anything; and the folks who work in the electronics section are some of the stupidest people on Earth.

Other than that, it's a decent place to shop.

There will always be an England

Its the company that owns Asda...huge cooperate supermarket that stacks it high and sells it cheap

It is a chain of stores that has groceries, food, general merchandise, etc.

It is like Tesco in the U.K. Also it is like ASDA in the U.K. (which is owned by the U.S. Walmart company).

Home that helps!

robbiedon
Asda is owned by Walmart, the larger stores of Asda in Milton Keynes for example are call Walmart stores, basically it is a huge superstore, selling clothes, furniture, groceries, and every household item imagineable.

hope this helps!

Its the largest retailer in the world so I have heard.
Its like ASDA, sells everything, food, guns, clothes, TV's, Cd's, PC's, shoes the list goes on and on, And its cheap, in fact Walmart own's Asda now and the Yellow smiley face from Asda is used in Walmart stores, also they sell George clothing like Asda does.

Wal-Mart is the largest retailer in the world.

They are a discount store--their ability to offer products at low prices is a result of the volume of their stores (they move into cities and put smaller stores out of business); the cheap goods they sell (80% of their products are made in China); and the low wages they pay their workers (over half of their workers have such low wages they qualify for public assistance).

gina7
walmart is our big discount store; you can shop for almost anything from food to toys to auto and clothing for everyone and eyeglasses and hairdresser on properties and fast food restaurants. you WILL come out with shopping bags i assure you.

Doc Holiday
It is a discount dept store, they sell clothes, electronics, computers, hardware, small appliances, groceries, candies, you name it and they probably have it at reasonable prices.

Viv
It's a really huge store with every general thing. They don't have a lot of specialty stuff, but they have LOTS of stuff. Clothes, electronics, food, hardware, etc. It's all really cheap, too, mostly because they don't pay anyone (they pay less than minimum wage, anyway) except about 3 of their top executives.

anthonychaka
A huge corp. that sells products really cheap due to volume. They are not exactly good for our economy because they crush most small companies chances of being competitive while paying low wages and offering no benefits to employees. They put lots of money into fighting against unions and spread propaganda to there employees and community that unions will hurt them by taking money out of there employees checks. Thing is ;;They fail to tell us for that fee that unions receive the union advocates for there employees resulting in much higher pay and benefits and job security Wal-mart is bad for America and will soon be bad for the world!!!

Black_Stone_Heart
They sell every thing from groceries to clothing to eyeglasses and more, but everything is low prices.

Wal-Mart is a big retail outlet. Fairly good stuff at dirt cheap prices. It's a GREAT place to go for your paper products, pet care, medications, electronics, infant care, staple foods, toys and cosmetics! Couldn't live without my local Wal-Mart.
