Common sense and personal needs must surely determine . If quality of life is important Scotland north of Stirling is great choice . Quieter roads , peaceful country side and nice , friendly people who will stop and enjoy a chat without running around like demented chickens ! May not suit everyone but good place to bring up kids . Oh and what about the "dreadful" weather ? Did you know Kinloss on the Moray Firth to the east of inverness has a July average temperature only slightly less than Bognor Regis in the deep south and a similar sun shine level !
See you anon ! |

Depends on what you want, i like it here in Porthcawl (South Wales) Its a small town where a lot of people get to know you and it's by the seaside. It's not very exciting, but it's a cosy place.
For excitement try London or Edinburgh, too busy for me personally but other people like them.

If you enjoy city life, probably Newcastle, Durham, York, or Edinburgh.
If you prefer the countryside, somewhere in Northumberland or North Yorkshire would be your best bet. Alnwick, in Northumberland, is regularly voted as one of the best places to live in England. |

The best place to live is the area where you were born. |

Apparently Edinburgh, although why anyone would want to live i Scotland I don't know. Prefer Berkshire. Much more posh darlings. |

I agree with Michael. Probably Sandbanks. It's a really nice place. I personally like Swanage myself. |
