Well, Shanklin on the Isle of Wight is lovely, but for your daughter, you might rather try Weymouth.....lovely clean beaches, and plenty to do. |

Broadstairs in Kent is wonderful. Really good beach with a small fairground in the summer. Not full of chavs either as they all head to Margate which is a ten minute drive away.
Hastings is good too, with plenty of attractions.

I agree, scarborough is nice for kids but if you were looking to stay somewhere a bit quiter, you could stop at whitby, there is still things to do for children. On the top of the west cliff, there is a place with bouncy castles, and a little minature train. Also you can travel to scarborough from whitby |
