Legally smoking 16 and 18 for drinking. However, in reality anything goes. Smoking as soon as they learn how to operate matches or lighter and for drinking when they master bottle opener or are strong enough to unscrew the screw bottle top.

Hi bubbles.......here we can smoke at 16 and drink at 18

Smoking is 16 - They are thinking of raising it to 18.
Drinking 18 - At 16, you can have one larger, with a meal, with a person over 18.

Smoking: currently 16 to buy / use; increases to 18 in October 2007

Smoking is 16 and drinking is 18.

18 for drinking, and 16 for smoking although it goes up to 18 next month.

However, it's really easy to buy alcohol and stuff even when you're obviously underage lol.

18 I think smoking has just recently gone up from 16. You can drink at home from five I think. And in restaurants from 14 as long as it's with a meal. But laws change sometimes so I won't swear to any of it, accept the drinking in pubs at 18

Smoking 16 and 18 for consuming alcohol, you are allowed in pubs, but you aren't allowed to purchase anything from the bar. I have been told as well that you have to be 21 to buy alcohol from shops and supermarkets. I know Asda stop young people from buying alcohol with out proof of age.
