Other people.
If it wasn't for other people, all my journeys to and from work would be great. Especially the arseholes who insist on using the seat opposite them as a foot rest. And also the arseholes who insist on eating hot takeaways and stinking the place out.
Oh yeah, and also the arseholes who insist on broadcasting their musical taste through their mobile phones. |

Depends on the form of transport you are referring to?
Buses are crap, Tubes are painfully crowded and dangerous, Trains are never on time and there are too many cars. I suggest you walk in London.

everything about travelling around this city is annoying.
dirty smelly buses and trains, perverts, lack of safety.
There should be more cycling and walking. |

The most annoying thing about travelling in London is the Northern Line Tube. In spite of decades of works, repairs and fixings, the trains never seem to arrive.
How long is one minute down the Northern Line? Until the next train arrives - whenever that may be!!
Thank God I seldom ever have to use the Northern Line. |

I'm a Londoner and i cannot stand tourist, well, mostly tourists.
when you're trying to relax, sitting on the bus, and you're surrounded by ten or more Americans wearing tongs, shorts and singlets, sweating and saying arrogantly 'why are Brits so icy?', or even worse, when a class of Italian kids, here with a school trip, invades the underground shouting incomprehensibly and pushing all people toward the tracks... than in that situations I'd just kill them all but an American, just to tell him back 'that's the reason we Brits are so icy'. |

Pretty well everything is annoying about travel in London.
The tubes are expensive and overcrowded, the taxis are expensive and the busses are slow because of the congested roads.
Car parking is ridiculously expensive on the street or in a car park.
Basically, it's because there are too many people in London. Has anyone any data on London population density compared with other major capital cities such as Berlin, Paris, Moscow, etc.? |

i reeeallly don't like it when....
1) people pushing onto tube trains when people are still trying to get off
2) people reading when walking down to/ up from tube trains.
3) the fact that 2cm of snow brings down the entire tube network
4) people standing in front of enterances to tube stations to finish phonecalls (not helpful)
5) people with massive bags in rush hour on packed tube trains
... rant over, apparently people are my main problem (oops)! |

Tourists who travel during peak times on the tube - why do they have to get on it when we're trying to get home/work??!! |

The trains are too overcrowded! The service isn't good, stations shutting all the time and delays.
Traffic in London is mad!
I think we need a tram system...I've seen it work well elsewhere, they're reliable don't get caught up in traffic either and it would spread the load from the trains.
I'm from London |

the roads/infistructure were not built for the volume of trafic in london ,
personaly i think that we should trebble the congestion charge area and up the prices , spend the money on upgrading the public transport and people will save money /time by using it
also build a monorail down the side of the big river . think im crazy?
ive been to sydney where they have a monorail and doubble decker tubetrains
they utilise there space better because they care about the normal working people getting around easy
also there town is newer
they use the water to get around on more than us aswell |

I hate to say this, but it's tourists, especially those who are not used to travelling on public transport. A little travel etiquette information in tourist guides would be useful.
Why tourists? Well, those giant backpacks - why? I'm always getting hit in the face with them. Other problems with visitors include: standing on the wrong side and/or blocking the escalator, not moving inside the carriage to let others on and, my pet hate, getting off the escalator or going through the ticket barrier and then stopping dead, causing a crush. Talking very LOUD on transport is very annoying especially in a confined space. That's why Londoners don't talk on the tube/bus. |

The smoke and grime.
The Tube.
Snobs who pretend the are reading The Times when they are reading The Sun.
Opinionated racist cabbies who don;t know when to shut the hell up.
Traffic jams.
Road rage.
Maniac driving.
People always asking for hange when you don't have hardly yourself.
Traffic pollution.
Being pushed around by self important pretentious arseh*les on the street and on the underground.
Need I go on. |

Trains are horrendously expensive and buses hopelessly confusing.
Why the simple logic of the tube system and its maps (best in the world) couldn't be in some measure applied to other modes of transport beats me. |

To a new tourist, travelling around London seems great. Tubes coming by all the time make it easy to navigate your way around that vast metropolis. Sweet and easy. Unfortunately, as soon as you start working, you realise how horrible it is travelling at the same time as the rest of the London multitudes.
1. Hot, sweaty and smelly people pushing and shoving to get on first.
2. There always seems to be a line that is undergoing repairs.
3. To change from one line to another, you sometimes need to walk from one station to another.
4. Unpunctual.
5. The constant "Mind the Gap" announcements are really annoying.
6. Broken ticket machines.
7. Dirty stations.
Yes, I have to agree with another Londoner who replied to this - the best way to travel is definitely on foot, if you can. |

over congested roads with only one driver per car, tube travel in rush hour, the yearly ridiculous price rises when the quality of service doesn't rise at all. the danger of travelling on buses in particular at night.
an initiative? more people being allowed to work from home so the commute is less congested and london can be greener |

Travelling in london is the most annoying thing about travelling in london.
Pick a method of transport. they are all pretty much the same. we need to start occupying manchester and birmingham. there are too many people in london. if you moved away some of the people to other cities there would be much less of a problem with transport in london. |

Most annoying thing about travelling in London is the tube, and the most annoying thing about that changes daily but today it's people on the platform who stand in front of the open doors so you can't get off the train. Get out the way, dumba**es, and we'll all be on our way, but if you just stand there or try to push onto the train, we'll be here all day.
I know it would never, ever work in London, but in Tokyo they have a queuing system painted on the platform of the trains, and it's an absolute dream. |

The mad people! Maybe it's just me, but every time I sit down on the Tube, some loony comes and starts talking to me. It's not like it's scary or anything just a bit embarrassing cos everyone starts looking at you really sympathetically, but while laughing at you at the same time.
Maybe I just attract them! |

We have an administration in London whose entire policy revolves around everyone getting onto a bus or tube with the result that the whole system is about to implode. They fiddle around with traffic lights to keep the motorist waiting longer to create congestion and charge you for there mismanagement. They just don't have a clue |
