What is the most peaceful place in London?

For me it's the Rose Garden at Regents Park. It's just so beautiful and quiet, and you're surrounded by lovely scents.

I also just love the little neighborhood parks that are everywhere, like the one in St. John's Wood. They're small, but peaceful.

Other places:
Churches. Many have their doors locked during the day, but there are some that are open. I love All Souls off Oxford Circus. It's awesome because it's so noisy and bustling outside, but then once you're in those doors it's like a serene sanctuary.

Primose Hill. At sunset it's just awesome......

Hampstead Heath

National Gallery, V&A and Tate: the upper floors are often nearly empty, and you can explore on your own or just sit there and chill.

British Library. They have a nice little cafe, and it's very quiet and chill. If you like writing it's a very good place to go.

Kensington Gardens

Holland Park.. both the park and the residential area.

I also just love meandering through neighborhoods, and find them to be surprisingly peaceful. Like the ones in Chelsea, Bloomsbury and Belgravia.

London is so hectic and bustling, but there are plenty of places that are quiet and peaceful, too, and you're sure to discover some places of your own.

: )

In central London it is surprising how comparatively peaceful the parks are to sit down and take a break in. Cavendish Square, Soho Square, Hanover square, St. James Square etc.

Well in the summer the parks get very crowded but are pleasant
nice to be with your partner or on your own with your Ipod and a book whilst getting a tan
If you want to be amazed there are many churches and cathedrals all around, most famous one must be St Paul's
I can sit in there for hours just in silence looking at all the detail.
For some quiet spots you have to find yourself and keep to your self, these may be off the beaten track so to speak (non busy roads basicly) and you find a nice cafe or bar.
A pleasant place is Hampstead Heath, this is a village styled area but in london. but my favourite place is Primrose HIll at the moment, on the north side of Regent's Park, You can see for miles and see loads of sites of London!
here are links to my photos of the views:

When I am in London I just create my own oasis whenever I can.
When the weather is good everyone heads to the green places so they get crowded - but it is really nice to sit amongst the turmoil with a coffee & a book (sometimes with an MP3 player) and just let life carry on around you.
