What is the most picturesque town/village in Devon or Cornwall?

I used to go to Devon as a child the village that sticks in my mind is Clovelly http://www2.clovelly.co.uk/index.php it has beautiful cobbled streets. I remember stopping in a tea shop for strawberries and clotted cream. I have never had strawberries again that lived up to the experience. I have not been to Cornwall but would love to go, I have heard its beautiful too.

Mousehole in Cornwall is beautiful. A tiny little fishing village - and just up the road is the Minack Theatre - fabulous place.

having lived in Devon for 16 years, id say that most areas were pretty picturesque..

Cockington near Torquay is pretty, but very touristy now, try somewhere like, Totnes, its quite quirky there too. Kingsbridge, and Dartmouth are beautiful... if you go to Moushole,Looe, polperro parking can be a challenge, so id suggest park outside the main area, and walk in.. South sands, slapton sands are also nice if you are after beaches..

Whitsand is beautiful, its cornwall... you can either drive over the bridge, or catch the car ferry over to torpoint, thats far quicker, but not as prett.. cornwall also has kingsand and cawsand too.. beautiful little villages, but very small... but pubs there, so your ok!!

happy travellin..

(of course this is only the south coast, theres still all the north left to explore!!) T

Good one Winnie - but just up the road at PORTLOE
is a great village and The Lugger Hotel - perched
right on the sea - great place

St.Mawes in Cornwall is the most beautiful It is very mediterranean with palm trees and exotic plants that grow only in Cornwall. I am not saying this because I was born there.
Ask Prince Charles and Camilla as they often stay at one of the hotels in St.Mawes. Princess Margaret has stayed there and the present Queen has visited. I have photos to prove the Queen's visit many years ago.
Thre is a web camera (not working at the moment) under St.Mawes harbour( can't give you the exact web address but it is easy to find).

TAFF
I'd say Padstow

It's a choice between Looe and Polperro. Enjoy

I'll say Looe

They are all so nice but if you are asking about the village itself not the views from it I would have to say Dawlish in devon.

I'd say Polperro would win that honour hands down.
But go there at dawn before the tourists get there.
