In general, the people of Britain speak English, with some in Scotland, Ireland & Wales who speak Gaelic & Welsh.
When people settled in the United States many generations ago they brought their language with them from Britain . . . . . . we still allow you to use it, but please don't mess with it further, it was a perfectly good language when we let you borrow it, and some day we might like to have it back! |
