these three are pretty rough - lived and/or worked around these at various points - not best safe, esp in the evenings.

Elephant and Castle. Hackney has some immigrant (or minority population) and generally the streets are less nice than say, Wembley Park.

But after having lived there, its not that bad. I felt that the area around Elephant and Castle is worse.

In my experience it's a toss up between Hackney, Tottenham and the crappy parts of the Brixton / Streatham area.
