What is your INTELLIGENT opinion of LONDON?

London is a world city, it contains so many different ethnic groups by default of its colourful past and its bright future.
It has its good areas and some bad ones too. You have to have a taste for life and be ready for a challenge if you want the best or most rewarding of London.
I have no intention of leaving for anywhere else as I find a lot of good things here. If I want a holiday for any particular reason or purpose then London is a hub from which all continents can be explored.
If you want social inclusion and cohesion, you'll find it here. People may not be friendly at first, but you'll also find they are not nosy or presumptious. You can be very alone in London, but this can also work in your favour.
People drive with regard for others in general, and those who appear to be inconsiderate in their driving generally dont understand how it is supposed to work or come from elsewhere.
There is a London for all budgets, the rich and poor from all over do seem to like it though.
My company just got bought out by another and i attended an induction course for the new company. 2 English,1 Ghanaian, 1 Nigerian,1 Asian South African, 1 Pole, 1 Irish, 1 Filipino, 1 West Indian and a Turk all sat down in that course and worked together no cliques no racial groupings just employees together embracing their new future. That is London, despite our individual or collective fears we all had the security of knowing that London does work for all of us.

I always consider it to be like a train, some people get on it, some people get off it, it moves a certain speed , some find it uncomfortable, others love it. If you dont like it no need to get on, or if you tried it and cant take it, get off it. There are only a few seats, just be prepared to pay for them.

Oh.. and once you arrive in London with the intention of staying, no matter where you are from, you are a Londoner...they'll always be someone else newer than you.

Forgive me for sounding sexist..but I'm allowed to as I'm a girl..ha!
I lived in London for 10 years and pretty much saw both sides of it....poor and rich... and I always thought London was like a prostitute....in certain lights she looks attractive...gaudy, seductive...but underneath the twinkles she's dirty and corrupt.
When you are in the right place at the right time, you feel like you are at the best party in the world....when you're not, you feel like you're in Hell.
I still love it though...

Sadly my intelligent opinion of London is that it is dirty, polluted, unfriendly and violent. However that is a view gained from living in suburban London. Most tourists only experience the West End and City which are cleaner and contain the much loved sites such as Eros, the Tower of London and Hyde Park. However, wonderful these places are, London undoubtedly is the most expensive city in the world for hotels, restaurants and transport.

I am an American who went to College over there and I had a great time but mostly because I knew I was going home...

Great place to visit but after a few semesters of awful food and worse weather, a plane ride back to New York is just what the doctor ordered.

Great place to start your European adventures... cause everyone speaks english (for the most part)

London is made up of villages, each with a distinct character and features. Over time the villages merged and blurred the edges.

Bloody blood suckers... looking for a way to capitalise off the United States as well as all Europe. We need to be careful and watch our "old" enemy! Whats in it for them and France. One needs to question why France and England want to be friends so bad now all of a sutton! Its all about the (EC) European Community and the Anti- Christ! War! The U.S will never be the same and we will need others soon to bail us out if we don't get it together, and this one thing will loose us the freedom we have had in the Americas! Vote against one currency and tracking devices in the body, and in our cars and in our money all in the name of security! And these stupid campaigns and commercials to use Debit cards and not cash! Wake up! Our government is Naive or think we are as we watch them sail us up the river! "Give me Liberty or give me death!" I smell a rat! Corruption! This may not be a popular answer, but it is a intelligent thought, an opinion worth paying attention to.
