What kind of people do you think own houses in Golders Green, London?

I live 2 miles from Golders Green. It's a very mixed area with a still large and vibrant Jewish community, and loads of Jewish shops and restaurants, but it has a wide mix of other ethnic communities, too. There are some very swish and expensive areas (the nearer you get to Hampstead, the more upscale it gets), but also a lot of cheap rented accommodation, which means that there are also a lot of young flat sharers, and a steady influx of residents new to London
I wouldn't call Golder's Green suburban - it has a North-West London postcode, and is only 7 miles from Charing Cross. Well maybe one of the closest suburbs to the centre! It's a wonderful part of London, full of life and only steps away from Hampstead Heath, London's most beautiful open space.

Spiny Norman
Golders Green has always had a large Jewish population. As Brixton has a Black community and Soho Chinese etc;

mccormack_thomas
Martin G you're one to be talking about big hats and silly beards.
Seriously though, I think it used to be a Jewish area. Who owns houses there now is difficult to say. Those who can afford London prices, I'd guess.

Martin
People with big silly hats on and big beards..

Sorry Mac, only joking...

Well at one time was a predominantly Jewish area. I think most have now moved out and most properties are owned by Asian people, this is typical of a lot of London suburbs.

?
Jews- Seriously no racial undertones

Well off people who like living in the suburbs

There is still a large Jewish population in the area, of 29.6%. This is still more than the Asian population.

JOHN F
Jews, as Golders Green, is mainly a Jewish area,
