Pop up to Scotland there is a lot of things to do and see from historical Edinburgh up to loch ness to spot the monster and the folk are real friendly. Decide what sort of things you want to see then check them out on the Internet I'm sure that you'll be spoilt for choice. Have a nice time. |

Lincoln = Small city with an amazing cathedral dominating the skyline, an impressive castle, a number of museums, picturesque old streets and pleasant surrounding countryside
Lake District - Absolutely stunning, though you might want to wait until summer to visit it
Cardiff - One of the best cities I've ever visited. Lots to do, beautiful to look at, and a castle and huge scenic park on the edge of the city centre. Plus a great nightlife and and lots of Welsh people! |

Brighton! Fantastic shopping (the Lanes with lots of very odd shops), a pier, beach, superb nightlife, very cosmopolitan, tons of music, comedy, theatre stuff and 5 minutes from the Downs (Devil's Dyke is but a bus ride away). Oh, and we're all nice here. Honest. :) |

Try heading up to Warwick and Stratford upon avon, both really historical towns, one with a great castle the other is the birth place of William Shakespeare. Plus walk along Warwick high street and see buildings that have been standing 500 years, and are still lived i. I use to live in one!! |

Second to that it has to be without a doubt Newcastle, cause the people are really great the foods lovely, try either pees pudding or a savaloy dip. Plus they have the best clubs, try the Blue Monkey. I've heard it's an all weekender? I hope you injoye our cuntry? |

go to Southend on Sea the longest pier in the world visit the museum and see where the oldest recorded saxon prince lived(it's not worth visiting the site there is a lot of unemployed hippy's living there allegedly to save it)
Go to Leigh on Sea off the A13 to the old fishing site town, then visit the old town centre.
Then go back along the A13 towards London to Hadleigh Castle see the Castle ruins together with the most fantastic view of The Thames, you can walk along there for miles, then next to the castle have a cup of tea in a cafe run by the Salavation Army for disabled children, and buy from the cafe chicken eggs from hens you can see running along the farm (the taste is different and nice)
The Salvation army purchased the site in the 1800's and it was used to reform alcoholic's thieves and other such person's by making them appreciate themselves thro hard work on the farm.
Pity they don't do it today.
Good luck |

It's not actually about my town as I live in London too. But I did take a trip up to York last year which was great. If you are interested in architecture it has the most beautiful cathedral and cobbled streets, as well as a city wall. It is a bit place but feels small and friendly. There are plenty of shops for shopping and a good museum. Though I wouldn't recommend the Jorvik exhibition - rip-off, small and not very interesting.
It's a good place generally to spend a few days just walking around. Lots of restaurants and places to take afternoon tea too! |

Visit Edinburgh, its history is fascinating, you can take ghost tours down into the catacobms or city beneath the city(where the most haunted live was shot). JK Rowling wrote Harry Potter in a flat overlooking Greyfriars cemetary, which helped inspire her, and the person who wrote Batman based Gotham City on Edinburghs gothic architecture. Loads of good shops, pubs clubs, and beautiful to look at, lots of greenery and no litter. Plus, everyones friendly, and if you go during the festival (1st 3 weeks in August) you'll never want to leave! Its my favourite place in the world! Plus, in Edinburgh, to this day it is still considered good luck to spit on the head of an Englishman! (I didn't make this up its true!) |
