once we all stop moaning about the weather, Manchester is a really nice place to live in. People are really friendly and theres loads of places to go!!!!!!!!!! The city centre has been modernised recently and looks really nice!!!!
Theres a couple of really nice parks which are really cool to visit.
There's always something to do and places to see! shops to roam and the rest. You should come down sometimes. Im not trying to make a pass at you but i'll show you around-if you want

Manchester's fab!! It's smaller than London, more compact and not far away is the fantastic peaks and moors. Manchester's got a real beat going on, the best for shopping, clubbing, eating. Mancurians very friendly, and very funny. Only downside's the bloody drizzle up there.

I lived there from 1996 to 1999 as a student and it had great nightlife and shopping and community spirit, but the downside was crime - everyone I knew there was affected by it, I got attacked, my friend got raped, everyone was burgled or mugged at some point....However things seem to have really improved and strangely it seems to have been triggered when the IRA did a very large free demolition job of the city centre with a massive bomb in 1996. The regeneration of that area is still going on and has made it really cool again and people seem to be really taking pride in the place now.

edit: but yeah it does rain the whole time!!!

i have lived in a small village in the outskirts of salford in manchester all my life and travel into town alot for shopping etc it is a nice place to live, wouldnt want to live anywhere else to be honest, but we also do have our rather large crime problem which is quite bad near where i live and is getting worse but it also has its good points too!

Barneyboy
I lived there for 10 years and I can say it is not a patch on my home city of Liverpool. Manchester people cannot be trusted.

Full of lancastrian potato heads.

It's like living with half a million ignorant twats like the Gallagher brothers from Oasis, only less talented and even more difficult to understand.

Im a Manc and would not live anywhere other than here, We have are fair shear of scum -bags, But then all big cities have the same problem, but untill we get a guvernment that locks the bad guys up, and stops giving money to anybody to bone idle to get out of bed before lunchtime then we have to put up with it. One shithole to avoid is Salford, nothing good there at all

This won't answer your question, but Peter Noone (Herman) of Herman's Hermits is from there.... a 1960s pop star.... he sang "I'm Henry the 8th I Am". Ask your Grandmother.

I am sat in Manchester now and it is not raining, I can actually see all the way to the pennines!

Manchester is a brilliant city to live in, so much going on, parts of it look beautiful, parts of it look scummy but it wouldn't be the same without either of them, a bit like the residents actually.
The shops are ace, club ace, bars ace, gigs ace, museums ace everything ACE!

Come to Manchester we'll have you!

I like it,been here 40 years,not been burgled,never been robbed,assaulted etc.
theres loads of good pubs, nightlife etc, apparently enough restaraunts to eat a different cuisine every day for a year
It is raining now , but that makes for greener parks
Good museums and art galleries
most people are fairly friendly
Lots of new developements which Im not over keen on but some are.I like terraced ,older houses
