I went on my first ever foreign holiday this summer to Salou in Spain - I went with three of my friends and it was very different to a holiday in England!

Firstly, the beaches were white, clean, and beautiful - if a little crowded, and the Mediterranean is crystal clear and warm. I could wade quite far out in it too and the water would still only come up to my waist - you could see the bottom of the sea quite easily and there were these tiny silver/ grey fish that came up to your legs! Compare that to going for a paddle in the cold, grey sea at somewhere like Scarborough...

The nightlife is really fun and a lot of clubs will let you in for free. There are lots of young people who go on holiday there, mostly from the UK, and more or less everyone else speaks English.

Oh, and one more thing - unlike England this year, Spain actually gets some sunshine in summer!!

Salou probably isn't for everyone - and I'm probably biased towards it because it was the first time I'd ever left the country - but I had a really great time there and have some wonderful memories.

Best wishes

Stayed at the Luxor, did the Grand Canyon by helicopter, lunched at the bottom and so much more. All expenses paid for all. Fantastic and will never be matched or forgotten, Thanks S x
