A survey was done in the early nineties that asked what people thought of regional accents.
Scouse came in as being the accent that people trusted the most.
Not sure what this means, but thought you might like to know. |

I'm from Glasgow, and have a Glasgow accent. When it's spoken in rich tones it can be a warm and pleasant accent to listen to. But, spoken with a "tight/nasel twang" and it sounds NEDISH. I think the same applies to the Liverpool accent. |

As a scouser in exile, I quite like to hear a gentle but noticeable Liverpool accent (like my own?), but I have to confess that I loathe the really thick scouse accent, and it seems to sound ten times worse from a woman.
There are some lovely looking women in Liverpool, but too often any raising of the blood pressure is immediately undone as soon as they open their mouths. |
