Depends where you're coming from.

There are flights from Stansted to Newquay, trains from Paddington to Penzance, calling at loads of places on the way.

How about St.Austell?
Its got a good beach, and the Eden Project.

I took my nephews to Tencreek nr Pollperro, it's a campsite but also has static caravans, a swimming pool, nightclub and take-away, we had a fantastic time.

Oh, where do we start? Padstow, Port Isaac ( where Doc Martin is filmed),and Polperro, are all really pretty and quaint, as is St Ives. Perranporth has a huge beach, Lands End, and The Lizard have a rugged beauty.Cornwall is wonderful....I love the place!! I now live in Cyprus, and rarely get the chance to go there anymore....but have had some wonderful holidays there!!

How about St Mawes, a small fishing village opposite Falmouth.

Some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, fantastic coastal walks and Henry VIII's castle.

Plenty of accommodation and places to eat at all price levels.

Please Please do NOT stay in Newquay, Everyone seems to want to go ther, and it is NOT a pretty place. I reccommend you stay on the South East coast, Looe, Polperro, Polruan, Fowey, Lerryn. Look up all these places up on the internet, and find pictures from "The Magic of Cornwall "I would reccomend a small village called Polruan, where little cottages tumble down the steep winding streets to the sea. The views from the top of the hill, are to die for, and the village was the inspiration for Daphne Du Mauriers very first book. Catch the small ferry over to the small town of Fowey, for more shops, pubs, restaurants, and gift shops. The whole area is not overly touristy, and very scenic. You would not be disappointed, I promise you. Ilive there, and it is gorgeous.
P.S. St Austell is ugly, they are re-building the town centre at the moment, and the whole area looks like a bomb site. The huge beach (Carlyon Bay ) is not very nice either, it has been man made, with sand brought in from elsewhere. Please look up Polruan, and Fowey.
