Depends on our lousy weather. If the weather is bad i would take them to Blackpool where there is plenty to do like the tower ballroom or the pleasure beach. If the weather is good then take them to the Lake District as there are some fantastic picnic places to visit and different lakes where you can also take on boat rides etc.......have fun. |

I would consider these places, it all depends on what your friends like.
Southport for a more genteel day out. Good shopping, huge beaches to have bar-b-que. Red squirrels at Formby along with naturist beach.
Lake District, Keswick, Cockermouth and the coast around St Bees Head ( Whitehaven) is stunning, very wild beach good for BBQ.
The only problem with Lakes is that it is busy and traffic jams are frequent going into towns like Keswick. Try cutting across land to avoid main tourist routes. This way you see more of the beauty.
Drive down into the Peak District. Matlock, Ashbourne, Dove Dale, Bakewell, all delightful places to visit.
Try Castleton, and take them down the Blue John Mine, only place in the world where it is found. Be nice and cool on a hot day. Same with the Speedwell Caven. An hour and a half from Manchester traffic permitting. Plenty of places to have a BBQ. |

Take them to Dover and jump on the ferry to Calais or some other French place.
DONT take them to the seaside, we arent gonna get that much sun this year and I think you should leave the chairs to us |

I don´t know the taste of your friends, and how old they are, but if I should make holidays in Manchester, I would like to see the Mersey River, and Beatles-places of course. (Isn´t Mick Hucknall from Manchester, too?). Don´t leave out the ManU-stadium. And so I have heard about warm beer without foam in England. If that is true, I would like to taste it. |

To london, forget manc land. It's full of chavs and car thieves, a bit like scouseville, but with less on social welfare. |
