Have a look here for sites in South West England (Cornwall, Devon, etc): http://www.cartwheelholidays.co.uk/acc-camping.asp

But Derbyshire/Staffordshire, with Ilam being one of the best areas to stay.

If you're willing to go up north, then by far the best area to go camping is the Lake District, with Ambleside being a really nice area.

woolacombe!!!
theres a campsite about a quater of a mile out of the town so u can walk back to it along the beach at night. the beach is really good, really clean, white sand, it does get busy in the summer but this time of year its great, theres a few shops, pubs, a club! and that sorta thing in woolacombe town.... and if u fancy it you can hire surf boards.... also i would recomend the hot chocolate from the red barn (if u go there ul know what i mean! its really really good, the best ive ever had)

from there u can visit barnstaple, which im not guna lie is a bit of a **** hole, its like the main town in north devon, and its just like any other town but if u wana go shopping thats where ud go, and also for nightlife, you can also visit ilfracombe, which is quite nice if u go from the harbour to the thearter, croyde is a lovely village near by.... also exmoore, which is worth a drive through, combe martin, to look for the whales and dolphines, theres also cheap boat trips from ilfracombe if ur interested, theyre good fun.
yea its good i would recomend it

ooh also when are you going? cos if u go sorta mid june ish, its ocean fest, which is music/surf festival, and u can camp for it, its definatly worth a visit. im not sure of the exact dates but if u google gold coast ocean fest it will come up. and thats at croyde

another suggestion is newquay area.... but the whole experience there will be a lot more lively.... and its about an extra hours drive... but definatly worth it

Christchurch in Dorset, or along the coast from Lyme Regis

Tintagel in Cornwall - spectacular views over Arthur's kingdom

Leedstown - also in Cornwall. The camp site there is split with different areas for couples, families and pet owners and brilliantly equipped. It's by the river and has lots of wildlife and lovely walks.

The UK is England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland altogether,

What part of the UK?

Are you one of these people who only calls England, the UK?

holidayreviewer
Try a camping parks website like http://www.touringholidays.co.uk/home/default.aspx they have some parks in dorset or cornwall, not too pricey and you get a safe releiable place to set up camp

Albo
I particulary like Porthmadog in Wales because you can camp about 50 yards from the beach for about £8 a night!

The beach is pretty good and because it's big you can always find a spot without sitting on top of someone else!
