If you arrive at a train station or coach station with nowhere to go you will almost certainly be approached by a friendly face who can see your confusion. He will offer you a room for the night and somewhere to sleep. You will then either be raped and murdered (unlikely but possible) or more than likely persuaded to take drugs. That will make you dependent on him for lodging and food and of course your next fix. You will then be forced into prostitution to pay back your rent.
I am telling it like it is and I hope to h--- it scares you.
The very best that can happen to you is that you sleep rough in doorways or in a squat. That will also lead to ill health and a life of drugs.
Talk your problems over with a teacher or youth worker if you can't talk to your parents. If you are being abused at home you can make it stop. |

London is not the place to be for a 14 year old girl. It is a dangerous city, especially for someone who doesn't even know wherre to go in London. If things are bad at home, talk to friends or family and see if you can stay a few days. Don't worry your parents so much, i'm sure they don't deserve it.
EDIT: If you know London like the back of your hand, then why are you asking for help? |

Well I see most of them teenagers sitting on card round kings cross, dunno how long you'll survive though, meat wagons are carting them away everyday! Better attempt to sort things out at home.
Edit: call Alone in London: 020 7278 4224 or Childline on 0800 1111 apparently they can help BUT there are very few places avaliable. |

Go to the house of a relative you're closest to and get it out your head what's bugging you.
They will be there for you, just as you'd be there for them.
Sort it out and then go back home and prove everybody wrong about you - prove that you have a future and shut everyone else up. |

No where is suitable for a 14 yr old to live on their own ,apart from the legality of it , talk to someone about the reason you feel you need to run away , maybe a teacher or one of your friends parents , |

I ran away in London when I was 15 and I got in so many life threatening situations that still effect me to this day. You really do not want to be a female alone in London with no where to go, you will be taken advantage of and that means prostitution, drugs, rape, violence etc. Even if you went to a homeless shelter which I did you would be taken advantage of and they are terrifying places to be, and so are squats when you don't know who is coming in and out and sleeping on the streets in London as a young girl is beyond terrifying. Call some relatives, even if they feel like they are distant, call Childline. But do not run away to London.
Ronald S has got the senario right |

Don't run away, seriously. What's so good about London? You'll be alone in a cold dark winter with little or no money. Stay at home, it's better! |

The nearest homeless shelter, bearing in mind the police will be looking for you and your family will be devastated. Stay and work at sorting out the problems rather than running away. |

Don't run away as it's never the solution. London would be the last place I'd recommend to a homeless child. It's cold and lonely in winter and it can be very dangerous for someone of your age. There have been countless television programmes on that subject. Why don't you speak to your parents about your problems? I am sure they will listen to you. |

What is so bad that makes you want to run away? Please don't wander around London, speak to friends or teachers or anybody you trust. If you feel you can't trust anybody then talk to a nurse at your local NHS, they can help too. Lucy, 19 |

Get help!
If you're so desperate to run away, why are you sat on Y!A?
Oh yeah - if you know London like the back of your hand, surely you'd know where all the homeless shelters were?
Seriously - don't do it. You must have heard all the things that happen to young girls who run away >.< |

If things are really that bad, contact the NSPCC - National Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Children for advise in confidence |

I spent time in childrens homes and used to leggit to London quite often. It is not recommended.
Whatever your problem, get help. Talk to a social worker, school teacher. You don't solve a problem by creating another one, which is what is likely to happen if you wander around London late at night on your own.
Take care. |
