First a general comment:- Go to http://www.enjoyengland.com for lots of short break ideas, including destination guides, attractions, events and accommodation listings.

Now a specific recommendation 8-)

I love the area around Wells and Glastonbury (Somerset).

Wells has (in my opinion) one of England's most beautiful cathedrals and is a lovely little historic city. Also see the Bishops Palace. (The town square was the location for Hot Fuzz)

Glastonbury has far more to offer than a music festival! Climbing Glastonbury Tor is a wonderful experience no matter what the weather. Make sure you do a little research on the history behind Glastonbury, the abbey and the tor before you go as there are centuries of legend, myth and history about the area - druids, a visit by Jesus (yes, that Jesus), King Arthur, Merlin and a lot more. The abbey ruins are worth visiting.

Nearby are Cheddar Gorge and lots of local attractions. While there is plenty to see, it could be combined with a trip to Bath with a day in each area.

Go to the Scottish Highlands and take the western coastal tourist route and take in Apple Cross, its the most fantastic drive and it takes you up the highest road in Britain (2500ft above sea level) Once your up there you can see across to the isle of skye and across the highlands, its breathtaking and the best thing about it is you will be the only people up there and for miles around as the road up there is a little bit hairraising but well worth it.

Have fun whereever you choose to go!.

Northumbria is a stunning place, you can also look at places like the isle of Aaron, Skye if you want a quite but stunning environment, if your looking for places of interest as well as some night life try Newcastle, Edinburgh or even Liverpool and Glasgow, all great places. hope you have a great time which ever place you choose. Enjoy

Being from Derbyshire i can recommend the Peak District and surrounding area.Lots to see and do.
Examples include.
Visits to Chatsworth House,Haddon Hall,Denby Pottery Visitor Centre,Crich Tramway Village,Buxton Opera House, Heights of Abraham at Matlock and much much more.

Just where are you now Blondy, its hard to help you if we dont know where you are living, we are not mind readers, but I would send you to Coventry.

You could spend a day in Bristol and a day in Bath. They are quite close.
It depends what your interests are. Do you like museums, architecture, wildlife, night-life, scenery?
The cotswolds are beautiful; if you like chocolate box scenes of rural England. Incredibly dull if you like dramatic scenery or rowdy nightclubs.

What a dirty trick... no not you, I meant what you did. I have no idea how often you bathe or even if you are a women of ill repute. Anyway uh, yeah Bath sounds good, take a Bath, you'll feel all refreshed. Sher wood forest wood do just fine fer sher but remember Simba: never go beyond the known forest to the dark forest, much danger lies there. And uh, Etc. I don't know 'cause I've never been, but I hear it's lovely this time of year!
