I'm going to Scotland tomorrow with my family and I know that they have deep fried Mars bars there. I know Scotland is the only place that does this so I need to try one! Anybody know where you would get them? Possibly a fish a chip shop? Thanks ;)

Hey, you can getthis anywhere, even in England, just take in a Mars bar and ask them to batter it for you.

I have to say I've tried this once and it is absolutely delicious, but I promised myself for my own good I wouldn't do it again =]

Yep - the chippy is your best bet. just go in and ask for a heart attack.

Yup the local chippies do deep fried Mars Bars - apparently deep fried just about anything really, just ask.

This next link may be the origin of the idea of the deep fried Mars Bar - an entirely Scottish delicacy.

Delia Smith [before she got pissed out of her skull]. She makes the gaff of saying she's going to cook something English - oooouch - you mean Scottish! Yes ye olde English Mars Bar - but the resultant culinary delight is pure Scotland and only possible in the mind of the Celts to whom all things are possible, even a fried choc bar.

Why is the medical profession so full of Puritans? Who seem to live on a diet of two day old dry bread and something called scrape?

Life is for living and if all a person has got is the price of a deep fried Mars Bar - have one.

We only live once.

Enjoy your deep fried Mars Bar - just don't blame me when you find yourself addicted. . . .happens!

Yes, most chip shops do them, some do other variations as well, Snickers, Yorkie bar, Creme Egg etc.
Glad you're only having one, they're revolting!

the carron chippy in stonehaven. If your not as far north as that just buy a mars bar and take it to a chippy and ask for it to be deep fried. Im sure they would do it for you.

deep fried mars bars are one reason why

Angel
Any Scottish Chip Shop, will fry you one, lol.

Ed
Chippy. Remember deep fried Mars bars are possibly one of the reasons why Scots have so many heart attacks and a life expectancy to compare with Zimbabwe!

Stu T
Deep fried mars bars are the new loch ness monster
