Where is a good place to go for a dirty weekend?

OK there are only 4 major rules with planning a proper dirty weekend......

1) is the bedroom and particularly the bed, but also any arsed sized perches (eg shelves, tables chairs etc) clean and comfortable

2) will the hotel/boarding house owner complain about the noise (particularly if you want to be jumping off the wardrobe shouting "Geronimo")

3) is the room service any good (is there whipped cream or jelly on the menu) and is is available throughout the day and night (no good running out of whipped cream at 3 am and having to find a 24 hour garage), you might need an energy boast at any point during the weekend.....

4) and most importantly what is the guest house/ hotels policy for weird stains or damage (i.e. plaster damage due to excessive headboard banging, or handcuff marks on the bedhead etc)!

Brighton is famous for being the place to go for a dirty weekned. In 1783 George Prince of Wales, (madness of King George's son!) visited brighton and liked it so much that he decided to build the crazy Taj Mahal stlye Pavillion just for 'Dirty Weekends with his Catholic Mistress! There are many themed hotels but if you want pretty the more expensive Hotel's along the seafront will give you a great view. if you want cheap, yet kitch and nice the Brighton Royal Hotel http://www.brightonroyalhotel.com/loader.htm
(Â£17.50 pounds per person per night I think) is next to a lapdancing club and directly opposite the Pavillion which is lit up at night, and only a two minute walk form the Lanes, town centre, and the sea/peir where they have fireworks at ten pm on the weekends. Somewhere cosy this time of year. Avoid the coast. Midlands towns are nice Northampton etc.... It all depends on what (else) you want to do on the weekend.

Matlock Bath is a VERY good suggestion.

Avoid Grantham. Not a very welcoming town I discovered, under similar circumstances.

York is good. Edinburgh's said to be nice too. Forget London, WAY too expensive.

Sorry, I'm working this weekend. Like Trouble said, Matlock in Derbyshire is very nice. Go on the cable car ride just the 2 of you and you've probably got just enough time to whip it out and maybe if I just lean this way and if you could just...........

The traditional place for a dirty weekend is Brighton. The town has lots of cheap grubby hotels of the sleazy kind.

Keswick is really nice in the Lakes. Lots of nice little hotels there.

i don't think you can beat Blackpool for a dirty weekend away.

It's nice and cheap and theres plenty to do (that is if you actually intend leaving your room for a couple of hours).

Mind you should check out Ryan Air and Jet 2, they've got some mega cheap deals, in fact some of the flight prices are cheaper than it would cost you to fill your car with fuel!

I'd try some where like LITTLECOTE HOUSE hotel in hungerford. It's a warner hotel so is kid free but the clientele may be a bit old. Tis a nice place though, never stayed there but been there as part of my job a few times and it does look pretty good.

If that's no good maybe Warner have more suggestions.

Well; I like a place called Glenfinnan (Princes Hotel) near Fort William - but that's one hell of a drive; dependant on where you are I suppose.

Angel Hotel, Bury St Edmunds - very classy.
Or, tell everyone you are going away, then stock up on lots of romantic goodies, and just stay home!!

Anywhere at all really. You can have a dirty weekend in a posh hotel or a travelodge.

You won't be leaving the bedroom so does it matter where it is?

Stay at home if its a dirty weekend you're after as you wont be going outside to enjoy the scenery anyway. Just invest in some candles and massage oils and all the other sexual treats and unplug the phone. Get a few microwave meals and tons of other food and drink so you don't have to go out. Oh and don't forget the bubble bath.
